The Club at Forest Ridge, managed by Bobby Jones Links is a semi-private country club located in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. The Club opened in 1989 and was designed by Oklahoma native Randy Heckenkemper. Our club is the centerpiece of the Forest Ridge community. It provides amenities typically only available at private clubs – two beautiful clubhouses, a meticulously maintained golf course, an exclusive social club, premier services, and an upscale restaurant and bar.

Forest Ridge is hiring for an Assistant Golf Professional. This is an advanced-level position with management skills required, responsible for assisting the Head Golf Professional in the daily functions of all golf operations. This position offers a unique opportunity to grow as a golf professional.  You will gain exposure to all facets of the business, and as a member of a dynamic team, you will have the chance to contribute innovative ideas to enhance the club’s golf offerings. This role is ideal for someone looking to grow both personally and professionally in a supportive environment.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Experienced in tournament operations and running/growing WGA and/or MGA leagues.
  • Has the ability to complete an accurate inventory count each month and has a firm understanding of cost of goods sold.
  • Assists the Head Golf Professional in planning, promoting, and directing all golf activities.
  • Knowledgeable in Club Fitting
  • Assist in developing merchandise sales and promotions during holidays, specials events, and times when sales are slow.
  • Provides golf lessons to all members and guests
  • Develops and conducts junior golf clinics.
  • Orders supplies for the golf shop as directed by the Head Golf Professional.
  • Plays golf with members to ensure enthusiasm for the game.

CORE COMPETENCIES

  • PGA or LPGA or Professional Golf Management Program and have completed PGA Level 2 or higher is preferred.  Level 1 graduates will be considered for a reduced role.
  • College degree preferred but not necessary
  • Efficient in operating golf-related systems such as Golf Genius Software, GHIN handicap software, Golf Car GPS software and Jonas point of sale/tee time software.
  • Willingness to learn.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and club point of sales systems.
  • Understanding of Club Financials.
  • Must have a thorough working knowledge of the club’s golf operation.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Walk, sit, stand for long periods of time, bend, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear, stoop, kneel, crouch, close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Spend time making repetitive motions such as typing.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally and to lift overhead and push/pull, move lighter objects.
  • Be exposed to outside weather conditions including temperatures over 90 and below 40 degrees.
  • Work near: moving mechanical parts, fumes, toxic or caustic chemicals.
  • Noise level in the work environment is frequently loud.
