Job description

Current Need:                  Looking for staff member(s) available to work weekday afternoon shifts especially.  Expected shift: 12:00, 1:00 p.m. or 2:00 p.m. until closing (dark).                                               Some weekday morning/ afternoon availability is also open 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for application.    An individual available weekdays, will also have access to additional weekend hours if desired. A minimum of 3 shifts per week is preferred. KEY OBJECTIVE:           The purpose of the Outside Service position is to provide hands on service with golf bag handling, golf cart staging and member and guest service as required or requested at a private country club.   Must have good people skills.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        

Provide personal service in assisting members and guests for the preparation of beginning their experience for a round of golf, lesson, practice or any other related activity.

Act as an "ambassador" for the Club to greet members and guests as they arrive to play or practice golf and assist them as they exit as well.

Provide the availability of golf carts in the staging areas for use by the golfers.

Maintain the cleanliness and quality appearance of the golf cart fleet.

Maintain the practice areas by providing ample supply of balls for practice by the members and guests and retrieve balls from the practice area when needed.  Maintain full swing and short game areas.

Assist customers after round by cleaning their golf clubs and assisting with storing them.

Assist in the golf shop with the golf professional staff as needed.

Assist the golf shop in enforcing the Rules and Regulations of the Club such as dress code, course etiquette, guest rules, etc.

Perform any other duties that maybe required by management from time to time.

SCOPE

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.

Ability to communicate with all levels. Provide guest service and follow instructions.

Strong organization skills, attention to detail and proper record keeping methods.

Ability to handle multiple projects, follow daily procedures and complete all necessary tasks.

Excellent oral communication skills.

Work well with others/ team player.

Knowledgeable of the game of golf is not required, but very helpful.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSAny combination of education or experience equivalent to the graduation of high school or any other  combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform to the position standards.

As it is a traditional game and conservative club, the appearance of the employee must be neat and "clean cut" at all times when on property.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Prior experience in hospitality or golf operations desired.

 

 

 

 

Wages:  Hourly position /minimum wage with possibility of additional gratuities.
