Job description

Position Title: KVCC Assistant Golf Coach

Supervisor: Athletic Director

Salary: $1,300 ($650 fall semester, $650 spring semester)

Job Type: Part-Time

Job Summary: The Assistant Golf Coach supports all aspects of the men's and women's golf program. The Assistant Coach will help build and sustain a competitive program while fostering academic success, leadership, sportsmanship, and personal growth among student-athletes.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree required or an equivalent combination of training and coaching experience.
  • Successful coaching and recruiting experience required, at the collegiate level, is preferred.
  • Current CPR/AED certification, or the ability to obtain certification.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Head Coach in planning and conducting team practices, skill development sessions, and tournament preparation.
  • Provide instruction in golf fundamentals, including swing mechanics, short game, putting, course management, and competitive strategy.
  • Assist with developing individualized training plans that support student-athlete skill development and competitive performance.
  • Support tournament-day operations, including travel, warm-ups, practice rounds, course preparation, tournament management, and post-round evaluations.
  • Help monitor student-athlete fitness, wellness, and conditioning while promoting healthy training habits and injury prevention.
  • Build and maintain positive recruiting relationships with high school coaches, golf programs, junior golf organizations, and prospective student-athletes throughout Maine and New England.
  • Assist with program operations, including equipment management, travel coordination, scheduling, fundraising initiatives, and team events.
  • Maintain compliance with institutional, conference, and athletic department policies while fostering a positive, inclusive, and respectful team culture.
