Job description

Edgebrook Golf Course, located in Chicago, IL, is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity for a Full-Time Grounds Crew! We are seeking a motivated individual who is interested in contributing to a positive experience for our members and guests while continuing to grow their knowledge of golf club operations. As an associate of Troon, you will contribute to a global leader in golf and community management.
Role Type:
Seasonal (Position will last 6 months or less)
Pay:
$17.75 - $18.00 per hour
Responsibilities:
  • Maintains clean and organized work areas on the golf course and maintenance facility
  • Mows greens, aprons, fairways, roughs, tees, and other areas
  • Waters tees, greens, and fairways; operates irrigation heads in dry areas needing additional water
  • Repairs the irrigation system, pipes and irrigation heads as needed
  • Grades and prepares soil base, lays sod and seeds greens, tees, and fairways
  • Trims and prunes hedges and shrubbery; cleans flower beds
  • Applies pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers to the golf course
  • Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor or manager

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
  • Must possess the ability to design, coordinate, and maintain landscaping on the golf course
  • Experience with operating greens/fairway mowers preferred
  • Must possess the ability to create spray programs for the golf course, including greens, tees, fairways, roughs, and landscaping
  • Must possess the ability to operate all tools and equipment related to golf course operations
  • Ability to give oral and written instructions
  • Skilled in seeding, fertilizing, mulching, and general ground preparation for restoration and renovation
  • Must be dependable
