Job description

A Golf Course Associate takes care of the golf course and the equipment. This position reports to the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Ensures the golf course, clubhouse grounds, and maintenance building presentation and appearance is always clean, pleasing to the eye, and impeccable in its presentation.
  • Attends the monthly agronomy staff meeting with the golf course personnel that covers training, customer service, and progress since the prior month.
  • Safely operates the maintenance equipment.
  • Cleans and inspects machinery before and after each use.
  • Reports any mechanical issues to the Superintendent.
  • Loads and unloads material.
  • Mows fairways, roughs, and greens.
  • Rakes bunkers.
  • Trims trees and removes cuttings.
  • Collects and empties golf course waste canisters.
  • Cleans gutters, drains, and culverts.
  • Water plants.
  • Cuts grass, weeds, and bushes.
  • Rakes leaves and bunkers.
  • Assists with special projects.

  • The endurance and commitment to work the long hours outside and weekend work that the club business requires.

Physical Demands & Work Environment Requirements

  • Walk and stand for long periods of time, sit, bend, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear, stoop, kneel, crouch, close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs. regularly; up to 75 lbs. occasionally and to lift overhead and push/pull, move heavy objects.
