About the Opportunity:
Chelsea Piers seeks a seasonal full-time Special Events Assistant to join our team at the Golf Club. In this role, you will be responsible for special event operations and logistics to ensure a positive and seamless customer experience. You will begin by learning the Golf Club business by shadowing roles in different departments. You enjoy rolling up your sleeves and helping out where you can. This role reports to the Special Event Manager and works closely with all Golf Club employees.
As the Special Event Assistant, you will be expected to:
  • Ensure smooth execution of all events at the Golf Club
  • Learn and be familiar with the Golf Club business and products
  • Greet and guide event clients in a courteous and professional manner
  • Enter accurate client information into systems and calendar
  • Assist with set up and break down of all events, including but not limited to signage, furniture placement, food and beverage offerings, etc.
  • Organize and track specific party and event inventory
  • Assist with phone calls, including checking voicemails
  • Other business-related duties deemed necessary by the Supervisor

About You:
You have superior customer service skills and are comfortable interacting with clients. You should have experience in hospitality or a customer facing role. You also have:
  • Strong organization skills with the ability to multi-task and complete projects with competing deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • An enthusiastic and friendly demeanor
  • Familiarity with Microsoft, Outlook, and computer systems
  • Ability to lift, carry, load, unload, push, and pull up to 30 lbs
  • Ability to sit, stand, bend, stoop, and walk for long periods of time
