  • Complete timely and accurate clinical documentation, including progress notes, intake paperwork, treatment planning, and client communication
  • Manage scheduling and administrative responsibilities related to client care
  • Participate in weekly supervision and consultation meetings
  • Attend and engage in relevant professional development and training opportunities
  • Practice in accordance with all legal, ethical, and professional counseling standards

For Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners (PMHNPs)

  • Collaborate with therapists and other providers to support integrated treatment planning
  • Participate in case consultation and professional development activities
  • Practice within all applicable legal, ethical, and professional standards

About Goldfinch Counseling

Goldfinch Counseling specializes in relationship-focused therapies, including Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and the Gottman Method, while also providing a wide range of individual therapy services. Therapists who are new to couples or family work receive additional training, support, and supervision to help build confidence and competence in these areas.

As we continue to grow, we are excited to expand our services through multidisciplinary collaboration, creating opportunities for therapists and psychiatric providers to work together in delivering comprehensive mental health care.

We are a small, collaborative group practice that values autonomy, professional development, and mutual support. Our team regularly consults on both clinical cases and the practical aspects of building a successful private practice.

What We Offer

  • Beautifully remodeled office space with updated lobby and entrance
  • 24/7 access to a private office
  • Shared break room with copier/printer, shredder, and refrigerator
  • Utilities and high-speed internet included
  • Flexible scheduling and the ability to set your own hours
  • Convenient, accessible location in the Des Moines metro area
  • Established referral network and marketing support
  • Ongoing supervision, consultation, and training opportunities
  • Guidance and mentorship for clinicians interested in building and growing a private practice
  • Supportive team culture that combines independence with collaboration

Why Join Us?

If you're looking for the autonomy of private practice with the support and connection of a group practice, Goldfinch Counseling offers the best of both worlds. Our clinicians have successfully built thriving private practices and are passionate about helping fellow providers develop rewarding and sustainable careers.

We believe clinicians do their best work when they feel supported, respected, and connected to a strong professional community.

Qualifications

  • Active Iowa LMHC, tLMHC, or PMHNP license/certification
  • Strong clinical and interpersonal skills
  • Interest in collaborative, client-centered care
  • Commitment to ethical and professional practice
