South Central Illinois Mass Transit District in Centralia, IL is actively seeking a responsible and motivated part-time Driver to provide safe and reliable public transportation to the communities we serve. Are you driven to succeed? If yes, read on about this driving opportunity!
This part-time public transportation position earns a competitive starting wage of $17 an hour (for non CDL) and $17.50 an hour (for CDL with passenger endorsement) plus a $0.50 increase after 90 days. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A DRIVER
In this part-time driving position, you are the face of our company. As you interact with the public, you maintain a cheerful and friendly demeanor. You adhere to traffic laws as you drive your route to pick up and drop of our community members. As needed, you sanitize and clean vehicles to ensure clients have a pleasant experience riding with us. Your customer service skills and ability to safely get people where they need to go is why the public enjoys riding with us and looks forward to future rides!
DRIVER QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • High school diploma, GED, or related experience
  • Ability to obtain or possess a Class C CDL with passenger endorsement
  • Valid driver's license with a clean record
  • Open availability and flexibility with work schedule
  • Ability to pass a background check and a drug & alcohol screening
