Job description

Our Business Development & Marketing team plays a critical role in enhancing the Firm's reputation, expanding its client base and driving revenue growth. This team develops and implements strategic marketing plans to promote the Firm's legal services, leveraging digital and traditional marketing channels to reach target audiences. They conduct market research to identify industry trends and client needs, positioning the Firm competitively within the legal marketplace. The team also manages client relationships, orchestrates business development initiatives, and seeks opportunities for partnerships and networking. Through compelling content creation, event planning and public relations efforts, they ensure that the Firm maintains a strong market presence and continues to attract and retain clients.
Position Summary
In an era of unprecedented change, the Infrastructure industry faces numerous and constantly evolving global opportunities. Global priorities to decarbonize and digitalize economies, to address climate change, as well as build resilience for critical infrastructure are driving the need for lawyers to structure and implement solutions for developers, government agencies and capital providers to address the changing global demand. The Infrastructure Industry Group is a global, cross practice group that covers clients in all infrastructure and transportation asset classes, including Digital Infrastructure, Infrastructure Funds, Water and Transportation Infrastructure and Assets.
The Manager, Business Development, Infrastructure is responsible for the effective execution of industry-led business development activities.
The role supports the cultivation of relationships with established clients, analyzes market, client, and competitor insight to identify revenue opportunities for the Firm, and coordinates delivery of Industry Group initiatives across practices and regions.
Working closely with Global Industry Group Leader(s), and the broader Marketing & Business Development Function such as Global Strategic Client BD teams, Practice Group BD teams, Marketing & Communications, and Marketing Operations, the role ensures consistent, high-quality, and efficient delivery of business development activity aligned with Firm priorities.
Roles and responsibilities
Strategic planning
  • Lead delivery of agreed initiatives within the Industry Group business plan, ensuring activities support client engagement, revenue growth and cross-practice collaboration.
  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of the relevant industry, including key markets, client segments and the Firm's capabilities relevant to those clients.
  • Analyze market, client and competitor insight to identify trends, opportunities and priority areas for the Industry Group.
  • Translate industry insight into practical business development initiatives, working with Partners and BD colleagues to support client engagement and opportunity development.

Client cultivation
  • Support the development and execution of client engagement initiatives within the Industry Group, helping strengthen relationships with priority clients.
  • Work closely with the Global Strategic Clients BD team to align Industry Group initiatives with strategic client priorities and client plans.
  • Identify and help progress cross-practice opportunities within the industry, connecting client needs with the Firm's capabilities.
  • Track and manage industry-related client engagement activity, ensuring visibility of opportunities and relationship development.

Market positioning and brand building
  • Lead delivery of Industry Group go-to-market initiatives and campaigns, working with Marketing & Communications, Content and Paid Media teams.
  • Manage development and maintenance of Industry Group credentials, marketing materials and experience lists.
  • Drive thought leadership initiatives aligned to market developments, coordinating internal contributions from lawyers and BD teams.
  • Lead industry input for pitches, proposals, events and external profile-raising initiatives, ensuring consistent industry positioning.

Cross-practice & stakeholder collaboration
  • Drive collaboration across Practice Groups, the Strategic Clients team and other Industry Groups, particularly where industries intersect or align with Global Growth Areas.
  • Manage Industry Group meetings, working groups and internal communications, ensuring clear progress against agreed priorities.
  • Build strong working relationships with Business Services teams, including Marketing & Communications and Marketing Operations, to deliver Industry Group initiatives.
  • Provide guidance and coordination to Specialists and junior BD colleagues supporting the Industry Group, helping maintain high standards of delivery.

Performance and reporting
  • Monitor and report on Industry Group business development activity, including engagement initiatives, opportunity pipelines and progress against the industry plan.
  • Ensure accurate tracking of activity within Firm systems, supporting consistent reporting and visibility of priorities.
  • Identify opportunities to improve BD processes, reporting and ways of working across the Industry Groups team.
  • Ensure compliance with Firm systems, policies and reporting standards

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; relevant professional qualifications an advantage.
  • Experience delivering business development or marketing activities within a professional services environment, ideally a law firm.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders.
  • Ability to analyze insight and data and translate it into practical business development support.
  • Clear and effective communication skills and a collaborative working style.

Salary Range
$136,600 - $187,000
