JOB OPPORTUNITY
JOB TITLE: Bus Driver / Maintenance
SITE AND LOCATION OF POSITION: Maintenance Operations and Transportation
TERM AND HOURS OF POSITION: 8 hours per day
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Under the direction of the facilities and transportation director, and in association with the lead bus driver, drives a school bus over designated routes for the purpose of transporting students to and from school and/or school related activities; maintains student discipline on the bus; submits daily reports as required; cleans and washes buses; monitors fluids and lubricants on buses; and makes minor repairs. Performs district maintenance and operation duties as designated by supervisor.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
  • Formal or informal education or training which ensures the ability to read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance.
  • First aid and CPR certification required; may be obtained within six months of hire.

License and Certificate Requirement:
  • Possession of the required California Motor Vehicle Operator's license.
  • Possession of a School Bus Driver's Certificate issued by California Highway Patrol, including passing a first aid examination.

SALARY: Range 20, $23.31- $29.11 per hour based on 10 steps.
SCREENING PROCEDURES: Review of applications and personal interviews.
FILING DEADLINE: Open until filled.
OTHER COMMENTS: The following documents must be attached to the application: Bus driver's certificate and DMV H-6 driving record report.
