Job description

Build the APIs, services, integrations, and data access layers behind mission‑critical applications.

Impact
  • Create reliable services for data, workflow, and AI‑enabled products.
  • Integrate internal and external systems with strong security boundaries.
  • Improve performance, resilience, and maintainability across backend systems.
What you'll do
  • Design and build APIs, background jobs, integrations, and service boundaries.
  • Implement authentication, authorization, audit logging, and operational controls.
  • Support data‑intensive workflows and AI service integrations.
  • Debug production issues and improve reliability over time.
What we're looking for
  • 5+ years of backend engineering experience.
  • Strong TypeScript, Node.js, Python, Go, Java, or similar production experience.
  • Experience with databases, APIs, distributed systems, and cloud services.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Must be capable of obtaining and maintaining a Top Secret security clearance.
  • Comfort working with ambiguous mission, data, and engineering problems.
  • Strong written communication and ability to explain technical decisions to technical and non‑technical teams.
Preferred experience
  • AWS experience is a plus, especially secure cloud, GovCloud, serverless, data, or AI services.
  • AI, machine learning, LLM, agentic workflow, or decision intelligence experience is a plus.
  • Experience in defense, government, manufacturing, aerospace, logistics, or other mission‑critical environments is a plus.

Anautics evaluates candidates based on role‑relevant skills, judgment, ownership, and ability to work in high‑trust environments. AWS and AI experience are strong pluses across this hiring plan.
