About Village Capital

Are you passionate about how entrepreneurship can solve important problems in the world? Village Capital, a grant-supported 501(c)(3), is the largest organization in the world supporting seed-stage, impact-driven startups. Since 2009, we’ve supported more than 1,200 entrepreneurs by tailoring programs to their needs and connecting them with investors that match their vision.

Role Overview

Village Capital seeks an experienced, mission-driven fundraiser to build new partnerships and manage a network of existing partners to create more inclusive and impactful entrepreneurial ecosystems. This position will report to the Vice President of Partnerships, and will lead revenue-generating partnership development and management efforts in coordination with program teams, the Partnerships team, and leadership across the US, Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia.

Responsibilities

The Partnerships Manager will be a key member of the Partnerships team and will have the following responsibilities:

  • Partnership Development
  • Develop and convert funding opportunities with program leads and teams (known as Global Ventures), including:
  • Prospecting new potential partners aligned with Village Capital’s strategic goals
  • Turning leads into opportunities to maintain a healthy funder pipeline
  • Developing new scopes of work for Village Capital that will achieve mission-aligned impacts as well as meet potential partners’ objectives

Shepherd strategic opportunities from lead generation to contract signing and provide support in implementation as needed. This includes:

  • Manage funding opportunities through a process that ensures cross-functional alignment and accountability
  • Facilitate internal communication and effective collaboration
  • Build a productive and collaborative environment where different team members ‘own’ their outputs and thrive, resolving conflicts and removing obstacles.
  • Provide guidance to program leads on partnerships best practices
  • Secure funding for initiatives with line of sight to scaling them organization-wide
  • Nurture partner relationships to broaden support and win renewals
Fundraising Strategy

Develop and execute fundraising strategies and activities with a focus on foundation and corporate support. Assist program leads in translating their vision and business objectives into scopes of work.

This Includes

Collaborate and support the development of regional and sectoral strategies with cross-functional teams, including opportunity sizing and resource prioritization to help drive Village Capital’s impact and goal of reaching 50,000 entrepreneurs by 2030.

  • Align partnership strategies in collaboration with Global Ventures and Partnerships teams
  • Work jointly with Global Ventures and Communications to improve Village Capital’s brand and visibility in different regions
  • Identify new product-enabling partnership opportunities, and support product team in developing go-to-market plans for new products and services
  • Build out Village Capital’s capacity to serve a larger number of entrepreneurs and meaningfully support entrepreneur ecosystems
Desired Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Three to five years of relevant experience, including a successful track record with winning grants and other forms of funding to grow the financial health and sustainability of a mission-driven organization
  • Familiarity and comfort with Salesforce
  • Experience living or working internationally with different nationalities and cultures
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Comfortable business proficiency in English
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and execute them in coordination with internal and external stakeholders
  • Team player with a desire to learn new approachesHumble, curious and empathetic attitude towards learning and creating solutions
