As our Maintenance Technician, you'll play a critical role in ensuring our assisted living and memory care community remains a place residents are proud to call home.

What You'll Do 


As the Maintenance Technician, you'll be responsible for maintaining the community's buildings, equipment, grounds, and resident living spaces while helping create a safe and comfortable environment for residents, families, visitors, and team members. 


Facility Maintenance & Repairs 

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs throughout the community, including resident apartments, common areas, and exterior grounds. 
  • Repair and replace lighting, fixtures, doors, locks, windows, flooring, drywall, cabinetry, and other building components. 
  • Complete basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and mechanical repairs. 
  • Conduct preventative maintenance on HVAC systems and facility equipment. 
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and work orders. 

Safety & Regulatory Compliance 

  • Conduct routine inspections to identify safety concerns and maintenance needs. 
  • Ensure compliance with life-safety, fire-safety, OSHA, and applicable state and local regulations. 
  • Assist with emergency preparedness activities, fire drills, and safety initiatives. 
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs, inspection records, and preventative maintenance schedules. 
  • Safely store maintenance equipment, chemicals, and tools. 

Grounds & Community Appearance 

  • Maintain community grounds, sidewalks, parking lots, and outdoor spaces. 
  • Perform seasonal maintenance, including landscaping support, ice treatment, and snow removal when applicable. 
  • Help ensure the community remains clean, attractive, and welcoming. 

Resident Support 

  • Respond to resident maintenance requests with professionalism, courtesy, and respect. 
  • Prepare apartments for new residents, including inspections, repairs, painting, and coordinating cleaning. 
  • Assist with resident move-ins and move-outs as needed. 

Vendor & Equipment Coordination 

  • Coordinate repairs and maintenance performed by outside contractors when assigned. 
  • Monitor maintenance inventory and recommend needed supplies and equipment. 
  • Assist in maintaining community vehicles and equipment. 

Emergency Response 

  • Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours maintenance emergencies. 
  • Respond to urgent maintenance situations affecting resident safety or facility operations. 
Requirements:

What You'll Bring 

Required Qualifications 

  • Working knowledge of building maintenance and preventative maintenance practices. 
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and mechanical systems. 
  • Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment. 
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities. 
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills. 
  • Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and work independently. 
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality when interacting with residents and families. 
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and safe work practices. 
  • Ability to accurately complete maintenance documentation and work orders. 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • High school diploma or equivalent. 
  • Two (2) or more years of maintenance, facilities, or building operations experience. 
  • Experience working in assisted living, senior living, healthcare, hospitality, or residential communities. 
  • Technical certification in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or related trade. 
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. 
  • CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.
