Role
We are seeking a highly organized self starter with a keen ability to manage multiple information streams and a passion for building efficient and scalable processes.
Based in New York, the Editorial Operations Associate will provide critical support for Octus' editorial team of experienced lawyers, financial analysts and journalists. You will report to the Senior Editorial Operations Manager and will monitor coverage, schedule events, maintain databases to support coverage and produce editorial content such as monthly digests, recaps and certain company-specific pieces.
Responsibilities
  • Manage scheduling and tracking of coverage events for major court cases
  • Maintain databases tracking data about key events and companies in Octus' coverage universe
  • Liaise with court staff, freelancers and other third-party service providers
  • Monitor third-party content related to performing, distressed and high-yield companies
  • Produce internal and client-facing reports and content
  • Collaborate with operations and editorial staff to enhance processes and systems that drive content

Requirements
  • B.A. or B.S. degree
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organization
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Experience in Excel / Google Sheets
  • Familiarity with SQL a plus, but not required
  • Genuine interest in financial news, bankruptcy and credit markets
  • Experience with financial data and topics a plus, but not required
  • Enjoys creative problem-solving and looks to take on new challenges
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team player in a fast-paced environment

At Octus, we consider a range of factors in connection with compensation decisions, including experience, skills, location, and our business needs and limitations. As a result, compensation may vary within and across similar roles and positions. Please note that the salary range information below is a good faith estimate for this position and actual compensation for any individual may fall outside this range if warranted by the circumstances applicable to that individual. If we identify a role that would be suitable for a broader range of skills and experience such that we would consider hiring at multiple levels then the range listed below may reflect that breadth.
The salary range estimate for this position is $63,000 - $70,000.
The actual compensation will be at Octus' sole discretion and will be determined by the aforementioned and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for an annual year-end performance bonus.
