Job description

Requisition Summary

The Inventory Planning Manager is responsible for managing the inventory for various Strategic Business Units, overseeing supplier performance and optimizing inventory levels to exceed customer expectations in terms of fill metrics.

This position is based out of Renton, WA.

Job Functions / Responsibilities
  • Supervise the planning of inventory to result in the achievement of division fill and inventory turn goals.
  • Develop corrective actions within the Strategic Business Units framework to achieve service level, turn, surplus inventory, promotions and inventory change objectives.
  • Work with Demand Planning to ensure forecasts and safety stock are adequate for assigned suppliers.
  • Identify opportunities for improved material flow and services in conjunction with Operations and the Distribution Centers.
  • Supervise, train and direct staff in inventory planning and supplier expediting.
  • Contact and meet with suppliers to effect agreements concerning material plans; reviews various service level, supplier order and backorder reports to effect expediting projects or supplier communications; prepares management and division reports.
  • Communicate directly with truck division field service groups to create, monitor, delegate actions, maintain documentation, provide feedback and follow-up on all field service and recall requirements.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree in Business or related field is required; MBA preferred
  • 5+ years of relevant experience (i.e. Supply Chain, Inventory Control, or Operations)
  • 2+ years as a manager or supervisor preferred
  • Inventory control or product distribution experience preferred
  • Understanding of JDA, SCM, or ERP software a plus
  • Knowledge of truck parts and component preferred
  • Microsoft Office proficiency preferred
  • Advanced Excel, SQL, and Tableau skills preferred
  • Strong communications skills
  • Language proficiency in Spanish or French desired
  • Six Sigma training desired

Salary Range:

At PACCAR, we value talent and promote growth and development. We carefully consider numerous compensation factors including your education, training, or experience. The salary range for this position is $104,100 - $146,630 annually. Additionally, this role is eligible for the full range of benefit options listed above.
