The Breakdown:

The Global Events Manager leads Burtonโ€™s internal and external event ecosystem to cultivate employee culture, strengthen global brand affinity, and drive engagement across snowboarding and marketing initiatives. Reporting through Marketing, this role oversees the strategic planning, execution, and measurement of global event activations, working in close partnership with marketing teams (North America, Europe, Japan, China, Australia/New Zealand), Merchandising, and Executive Leadership.

The ideal candidate is an operationally rigorous event manager with a marketing mindset, capable of translating high-level strategy into execution while maintaining cost efficiency and measurable ROI.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

External Events (60%)

  • Lead end-to-end planning and execution of global brand, consumer, and rider-community events aligned with marketing campaign calendars.
  • Partner with regional marketing leads to localize global event frameworks across North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific, and China.
  • Manage vendor relationships, external agencies, event production partners, and site logistics to ensure seamless execution and premium brand presentation.
  • Integrate Burtonโ€™s purpose and community initiatives into external event touchpoints.
  • Deliver high-touch VIP, rider, and key stakeholder experiences that build long-term brand equity and partnership value.
  • Partner with retail teams to deliver events at our owned stores and wholesale accounts.

Internal & Corporate Events (30%)

  • Design and execute internal event programs that celebrate Burton's culture, heritage, and values while supporting employee well-being.
  • Collaborate with HR and Executive Leadership on company-wide meetings, culture celebrations, and internal milestone events.
  • Partner with Merchandising teams to produce high-impact internal activations that support the Go-To-Market process.

Strategy, Management & Operations (10%)

  • Develop and maintain a unified global event strategy, annual master calendar, and regional toolkits/templates.
  • Establish event KPIs, track operational metrics, and measure post-event ROI to inform future strategy.
  • Manage global event budgets, ensuring strict fiscal discipline, vendor negotiation efficiency, and proper resource allocation.

Requirement Profile:

ย 

Education:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree or equivalent combination of education experience is required. A focus in business, marketing, hospitality, event production or communication is encouraged.ย 

ย 

Experience:

  • Management positions require 4 โ€“ 6 years of event management experience.
  • True expertise in market value for event, negotiation tactics with agencies and contractors, and the highest-level grasp of all that is going on in snowboarding and outdoor space.
  • Finger on the pulse of snowboarding and outdoor space: candidate must be an expert in knowing event properties in the snowboarding and outdoor space.
  • Experience with M3, Adobe Suite, and Microsoft Applications is a must.

Travel Required:

This position requires approximately 25% travel, including overnight and international trips. Must be available to work extended hours during events, including weekends and holidays.

Snowboarding/Outdoor Industry Knowledge:ย 

This position requires prior work experience in Snowboarding/Outdoor industry.

This position doesnโ€™t require additional language skills

Work/Physical Environment:

  • 50%: This position is in a typical, stationary office setting.ย  Over 80% of the day will be spent sitting in 1 location.
  • 50%: This is a mobile position, which will require walking and standing on feet for a majority of the day.ย 
  • This position requires the ability to lift at least 70+lbs.
