Business Segment Overview

Position Purpose: StoneX Group Inc. is seeking a Planner, Global Events to join our team in West Des Moines, IA. Events play a critical role in advancing StoneXโ€™s global brand presence and overall marketing strategy. Reporting to the Head of Global Events, this role serves as a key leader in the planning and execution of a diverse portfolio of events, driving projects from concept through completion.

The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record of successfully managing all aspects of event planning and execution, while coordinating across multiple stakeholders, vendors, and business partners. Although some components will be executed through external vendors, this individual is ultimately responsible for ensuring every event is delivered with excellence, accuracy, and attention to detail, on time and within scope.

We are looking for a highly organized, proactive professional. Success in this role requires exceptional relationship-building skills, the ability to manage expectations, solve problems creatively, and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization. The successful candidate will demonstrate sound judgment, confidence, diplomacy, and the ability to provide strong leadership while maintaining a customer-focused and team-oriented approach.


Primary duties will include:

  • Source event venues and send out RFPs
  • Request and review hotel/venue and vendor contracts
  • Put together meeting specifications
  • Review BEOS
  • Work with vendors (production, signage, transportation, dรฉcor, etc.)
  • Work with the StoneX Graphic Design Team on event branding and signage
  • Speaker management
  • Agenda management
  • Create name badges, table tents and other meeting materials, as needed
  • Review and test registration site (in Cvent)
  • Review copy, as needed, for accuracy
  • Ensure StoneX events are current on the company website
  • Collaborate with Event Marketing and Central Marketing Teams, as needed
  • Maintains prompt and regular attendance
  • Serve as back-up for virtual events, when needed

To land this role you will need:

  • Requires at least 3-5 years of related experience
  • Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the meetings industry
  • Strong problem solving, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Robust attention to the details
  • Ability to utilize computer software, including MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
