Job description

Barback Job Description

The Barback is responsible for assisting the bartenders and supporting daily bar operations to ensure efficient and smooth service. This position plays a key role in maintaining bar cleanliness, organization, and supply levels while helping create a positive guest experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assist bartenders during service by keeping the bar fully stocked and organized
  • Maintain glassware supply, including washing, polishing, and restocking glasses throughout the shift
  • Monitor bar inventory and replenish liquor, beer, wine, mixers, garnishes, ice, and other supplies as needed
  • Stay aware of cocktail service needs and ensure bartenders always have the proper vessels and glassware available
  • Remove dirty dishes, glassware, and trash from bar and guest areas promptly
  • Support cleanliness and sanitation standards for all bar stations and storage areas
  • Run food to guests when necessary and assist the service team during busy periods
  • Assist with opening and closing side work duties
  • Communicate with bartenders and management to maintain efficient workflow and guest service
  • Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and health department standards

Qualifications

  • Previous restaurant or bar support experience preferred, but not required
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while staying organized and attentive
  • Strong sense of urgency and teamwork
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the shift
  • Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Positive attitude, reliability, and willingness to assist the team where needed
  • Basic knowledge of bar operations, glassware, and cocktail service preferred
