Job description

MANTECH seeks a motivated, customer-oriented Software Engineer to join our team at Cape Canaveral, Florida . This is an onsite position This position will support the United States Space Force (USSF) 5 th Space Launch Squadron and the launch services they support . ManTech's Air Force and Space Division is recruiting highly talented candidates to support a contract that provides full life cycle support to the United States Space Force (USSF) Assured Access to Space National Security Space Launch (NSSL) program. We provide services and support in a multitude of areas, including Systems Engineering & Integration, Acquisition & Program Management Support, Mission Integration Management, System Safety & Environmental Engineering, Systems Security & Information Assurance, Launch Schedule and Risk Management, Digital Engineering . This position also p erforms system and subsystem desi gn implemen tation, integration and tests. Participates in software requirement review, applications and tool definition, design, implementation , integration, test, s oftwar e acceptance review and iteration . Performs software application related developmen t t asks as directed. Interacts with customer personnel on technical matters, often supporting coordinated activity across organizational lines. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Responsible for software web applications required to support the 5th Space Launch Squadron. Involves maintaining , extending or rewriting existing applications, or creating new applications which can be accessed from multiple groups, bases and domains. * The Software Engineer will have knowledge of modern web development strategies and techniques to support existing projects and future application development. The work is mostly on complex projects integrating multiple systems and includes all phases of the software lifecycle. * Provide support for team-developed applications; design and develop web or cloud-hosted applications; investigate and identify opportunities for efficiency enhancements to our software development processes and for the enterprise processes our applications support; application, server and tool administration. * Develop and provide user and leadership training for existing or newly developed applications . * Provide regular status updates to customer technical leads and participate in and lead agile software development methodologies. * Work as integral team member of the software development team including individual and virtual pair programming. Minimum Qualifications: * Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Bachelor's Degree in STEM field 1.5 years of Software Development experience may be accepted in lieu of each 1 year of education/degree requirement. * 5 + years of experience as a Software Engineer, programmer, or software developer * 3 + year s DoD or Launch/Range experience. * Development experience using the following or equivalent: HTML5/CSS3/JavaScript, asynchronous programming, Restful Framework, Agile, UX design, C# or Python. Experience using software development planning tools, source control tools, and task automation tools. * CompTIA Security+ certification or ability to obtain certification within 6 months of hire. Preferred Qualifications: * Experience in development or engineering with performing one or more of the following: DevOps/ DevSecOps , Database Management with PostgreSQL, MongoDB and/or other DBMS; building Restful APIs using .NET Core or Python; VueJS / Vuetify Framework, WebSockets , Flask, Web Services; Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, AI/ML data pipelines, Data Analysis, performance enhancement, backup/recovery, job automation. * Experience in using and managing one or more of the following tools: CI/CD Pipelines; Git, GitLab, or GitHub; devcontainers in Visual Studio Code; Power Automate; PowerBI ; Jira; Confluence; Mattermost (including administration and user management); Amazon Web Services; Nebula; Platform One. * Certification or Familiarity with: CompTIA Cloud+ or AWS certification; Cape Canaveral Space Force Station (CCSFS) facilities, processes, providers, and operations . * Proficiency in Microsoft Office, commercial business applications, and cloud-hosted platforms and applications. Clearance Requirements: * Must be able to obtain and maintain an Active Secret clearance Physical Requirements: * Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%. * Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. * Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer. * Frequently communicates with co-workers, management and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
