Atlas Tech, a veteran-owned IT company serving multiple DoD customers in support of America's warfighters, is seeking a passionate, flexible, committed team player to join our group of highly motivated professionals. If you are comfortable in fast paced environments, can think on your feet, and excel in team-based collaborative efforts, then this may be the right fit for you. Atlas Tech is seeking a Microsoft Azure Cloud Engineer for an effort to provide systems engineering and integration of Naval software systems. This is an on-site role based in North Charleston, SC, with flexibility to telework 2 days out of the week.
You Will:
  • Be responsible for cloud infrastructure, automating and streamlining operations, and building and maintaining tools for deployment
  • Develop automated deployment pipelines and Infrastructure-as-Code templates
  • Build solutions to automate cloud operations tasks including monitoring, scaling, backup, and disaster recovery
  • Provide expertise in cloud architecture and modern infrastructure practices
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning using Infrastructure as Code
  • Design and optimize cloud architectures to improve performance, cost-efficiency, security, and scalability
  • Provide recommendations for cloud best practices and process improvements
  • Contribute to team objectives and support cloud migration initiatives
  • Design and implement cloud monitoring and management solutions
  • Prepare technical documentation and present architecture proposals to engineering teams
  • Deploy and test cloud infrastructure in development environments as part of CI/CD processes
  • Research new technologies to support enterprise automation solutions for large DoD Systems
  • Investigate and resolve complex issues that span multiple applications/technologies and require involvement from technical personnel across multiple groups
  • Verify documentation is easy to understand for both internal and external teams with varying skillsets and expertise
  • Provide feedback on internal processes and recommendations for improvement
  • Decompose tasks and provide status updates

You Have:
  • ship
  • Department of Defense (DoD) Secret level Security Clearance or you're able to obtain an interim security clearance prior to hire date.
  • DoD 8140\8570 Certifications to be qualified as an Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level II
  • 3+ years of technical experience with Azure, AWS or Google Cloud Platform
  • Experience in a DEVOPS role or similar overseeing complex IT infrastructure
  • Experience with Ansible, automation platform
  • Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM templates)
  • Ability to design, deploy, and manage multi-tier cloud applications and services
  • Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Working knowledge and experience with Agile framework and Scrum
  • Understanding of cloud networking, security, and cost optimization principles
  • Strong documentation and oral communication skills to clearly communicate with all levels of users, engineers, managers, and organizations
  • Ability to work with others in a highly collaborative environment
  • Self-Motivated, strong work ethic and commitment to quality
  • Ability to multi-task and balance multiple goals and priorities

We'd Be Impressed If You Had:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science
  • 5+ years of experience in a cloud engineering role
  • Demonstrated experience with:
    • CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Microsoft Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions)
    • Configuration management and automation platforms (Ansible, Chef, Puppet)
    • Programming/scripting languages (Bash/Python/HTML/etc)
    • Git, GitLab, GitLab Pipelines, Artifactory, Confluence and Jira
    • Integrated development environment (IDE, Visual Studio Code) for GIT management and code revision
    • Cloud computing infrastructure (i.e. AWS, Microsoft Azure, Red Hat OpenShift)
    • Monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack)
    • Microservices architecture and serverless computing
    • Database administration in cloud environments
    • Security best practices and compliance frameworks
    • Cost optimization and FinOps practices
  • Certifications:
    • Developer-level Scrum certification, e.g. Professional Scrum Developer (PSD) or Certified Scrum Developer (CSD)
    • Microsoft Azure Administrator
    • Red Hat Certified Specialist in Ansible Automation
    • CISSP, SANS, ITIL
