Who We're Looking For:

At TSMC, we are dedicated to building world-class cloud-native infrastructure to support our global operations. Our North America Software Center is seeking a talented software engineer with expertise in operations and optimization for MongoDB to join our team. This position is ideal for a seasoned professional who is passionate about improving the performance, scalability, and reliability of database and Lakehouse technologies at a global scale. The ideal candidate will combine a deep technical background with a drive to innovate and optimize, ensuring efficient and sustainable operations across TSMC's cloud ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead efforts in optimizing MongoDB for performance, reliability, and scalability.
  2. Analyze and resolve operational challenges, ensuring continuous improvement for mission-critical systems.
  3. Guide teams in designing, implementing, and maintaining highly performant and optimized data pipelines.
  4. Collaborate with Software Engineers and Data Architects to improve system infrastructure through monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting MongoDB systems.
  5. Define and implement best practices for managing data systems, including backup, recovery, and high availability strategies.
  6. Lead cross-team discussions on operations, scalability, and architectural refinements for database and data warehouse systems.
  7. Contribute to the lifecycle of systems from conceptual design through implementation, deployment, and optimization.
  8. Mentor team members to ensure deep understanding of database and Lakehouse optimization techniques.

Minimum Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related fields, or equivalent practical experience.
  2. At least 8 years of experience in database operations and optimization, with hands-on expertise in MongoDB.
  3. Proven track record of improving performance and scalability in complex database and Lakehouse environments.
  4. Extensive experience in software development using programming languages such as Java, Python, Go, Rust, or other relevant languages.
  5. Minimum 3 years of experience in cloud computing (AWS, Azure, or GCP), with a focus on database and data processing workloads.
  6. Strong technical leadership skills with at least 3 years in a leadership role, setting direction for database and system optimization projects.
  7. Hands-on expertise with version control tools like Git, GitLab, or GitHub.
  8. Exceptional communication skills to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders across global teams.

Eligibility:

Applicants must have legal authorization to work in the United States. We currently cannot provide sponsorship or take over sponsorship of an employment visa. Work Location & Schedule:

This position is based on-site at our Vancouver, Washington location during core business hours, Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm. Additional hours may be required to meet project demands.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • At TSMC, your base pay is just one component of your comprehensive compensation package. For new hires in this position, the starting salary typically ranges between $166,800 and $223,050 per year. The full salary range for this Job Grade extends from $166,800 - $241,800 depending on factors such as skills, qualifications, education, experience, tenure, and position level. TSMC's total compensation package also includes market-competitive pay, profit sharing and incentive bonuses, and tuition assistance.
  • Comprehensive benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance, and access to a 401(k) plan with employer match.
  • Employees enjoy 12 holidays per year and accrue paid time off annually.
  • Onsite amenities include a fitness center, game room, physical therapist, and subsidized cafe.
