Overview As a Backend Ruby Engineer, you will build production‐grade systems that handle hundreds of millions of API calls each day.

Your work will directly support high‐profile brands such as Marc Jacobs, GrubHub, Michelin, and many others. The role involves deep Ruby expertise as well as opportunities to contribute to Golang, Python, and other parts of the stack. What Makes This Role Different Beyond Rails: work on a custom Ruby framework, a custom job system, Redis, Elasticsearch, and integrations with cloud providers such as S3 and Azure.

Serious CI/CD: use GitLab for continuous integration and deployment on AWS. Testing: use Bundler, RSpec, Minitest, and Factory Bot to ship fast and reliable code. World‐class training and documentation: access a comprehensive internal engineering guide.

High‐scale systems: maintain hundreds of millions of API calls per day with reliability as a priority. Engineer‐first culture: full autonomy and support from a flat engineering team. Recent Projects Universal Metadata Extractor – a scalable pipeline to extract and normalize metadata from many file types for search and audit. Upcoming Projects (next 6–12 months) AI‐Powered Content Discovery – semantic file search using vector embeddings. Zero‐Trust File Sharing – design ephemeral links with device posture and geolocation constraints.
