Job Title: GIS Maps Coordinator
Location: Providence, RI
Job Description
Maps & Records Coordinator shall support the Maps and Records team overseeing Mapping personnel involved in the collection and input of mapping data into companies’ systems to ensure safety and to achieve compliance goals.
Responsibilities
  • Assist Lead GIS Specialist and/or Supervisor with training, monitoring, and developing personnel, as well as other varied assigned duties in the Maps and Records department as required.
  • Review, approve and post maps and records projects.
  • Responsible for updating and maintaining the backlog databases daily into GIS applications to ensure timely delivery of information and safe operation of facilities while meeting regulatory requirements and maximizing cost recovery returns.
  • Generate and update various reports as required to monitor performance which include Safety, KPI’s & Compliance metrics.
  • Maintain Record Retention database & prepare and process Maps & Records Historical documents as well as others for storage as required by policies.
Job Qualifications:
  • Associate degree in Engineering discipline OR in lieu of a degree, equivalent work experience required.
  • Desired: Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Mapping, Engineering, or Geographic Information Systems (GIS), in a supervisory or drafting capacity.
  • Demonstrated supervisory skills necessary to direct, motivate, instruct, and develop bargaining unit personnel in the operation and maintenance of electronic and manual mapping and information systems.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Esri GIS Enterprise Systems and the Utility Network.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and municipal codes and regulations and company standards and policy.
