Position: GIS Developer / Enterprise Specialist Employment Type: Full Time Location: Falls Church,VA. Position Summary: The Senior GIS Developer / Enterprise Specialist supports the development, administration, and delivery of enterprise GIS applications, data, and workflows, with a primary focus on ArcGIS Enterprise environments and advanced geospatial solutions. The role develops web applications, dashboards, and data products; integrates real-time and large-scale data systems; and supports the architecture, security, performance, and operational integrity of enterprise GIS infrastructure.

Leveraging strong knowledge of ArcGIS Enterprise architecture and platform capabilities, this position helps ensure GIS solutions are stable, scalable, secure, and efficient while driving continuous improvement in system performance, workflows, data management, and application delivery. Essential Duties and Responsibilities (others may be assigned) Review and provide guidance on enterprise GIS system architecture, applying best practices for performance, scalability, security, reliability, and maintainability. Collaborate with GIS analysts, developers, and content specialists to support the integration, deployment, and maintenance of client-facing GIS applications and services.

Develop and maintain web-based GIS applications and solutions within the Esri ecosystem, including javascript applications where relevant. Leverage and develop Python scripts, tools, and automated workflows for geoprocessing, data management, system administration, application support, and process optimization. Support enterprise GIS workflows, including data publishing, service configuration and management, application deployment, and system administration.

Collaborate with GIS developers, analysts, content specialists, and stakeholders to integrate geospatial data, applications, services, and enterprise systems. Monitor system health, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions across enterprise GIS infrastructure. Monitor enterprise GIS system health and performance, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and implement corrective and preventative actions.

Assist in establishing and maintaining governance standards for GIS architecture, security, and system usage. Provide advanced technical support and guidance to internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders, resolving complex platform, application, data, and integration issues. Evaluate and integrate Esri, open-source, and third-party technologies to extend enterprise GIS capabilities and address evolving technical requirements.

Apply structured troubleshooting, testing, and performance-tuning methodologies to diagnose issues and improve system and application reliability. Develop and maintain technical documentation, standards, procedures, and training materials to support knowledge transfer and sustainable operations. Assist with business development efforts as needed.

What Success Looks Like: Enterprise GIS systems are effectively monitored, supported, and maintained, with risks and issues identified and escalated appropriately. GIS applications, services, data products, and workflows are developed and delivered reliably and in alignment with technical and stakeholder requirements. Complex platform, application, data, and integration issues are diagnosed methodically, with effective corrective actions and recommendations provided.

ArcGIS Enterprise architecture, security, performance, and administration decisions are supported by sound technical guidance and established best practices. Automation, scripting, and process improvements reduce manual effort and improve the efficiency and consistency of GIS operations. GIS developers, analysts, and stakeholders receive responsive, trusted technical support and guidance on enterprise GIS solutions.

Technical documentation, standards, and procedures are maintained to support knowledge transfer, consistent practices, and sustainable operations. Required Qualifications: Education: Master's degree in GIS, Computer Science, Geography, or a related field Experience: 2 years of experience deploying and administering Esri Enterprise software (ArcGIS Enterprise or equivalent) Demonstrated experience managing enterprise GIS environments in a production setting Technical Skills: Strong understanding of ArcGIS Enterprise architecture (Portal, Server, Data Store, Web Adaptor) Experience with web technologies, including JavaScript and related frameworks for GIS applications Experience developing, deploying, and maintaining web mapping applications Proficiency with ArcGIS Pro and enterprise data management workflows Experience working within virtualized Windows enterprise environments Familiarity with system security, user management, and access control within GIS platforms Professional Skills: Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving capabilities Ability to manage and organize large datasets and complex system components Strong organizational skills with attention to detail Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment Effective written and verbal communication skills Other Requirements: Active TS U.S. citizen Desired Experience: Experience with ArcGIS Enterprise 11.x deployments and upgrades Familiarity with automation and configuration management practices Experience with infrastructure datasets and enterprise data models Knowledge of open-source GIS tools and integration approaches Experience supporting high-availability or distributed GIS systems Esri certifications (e.g., Enterprise Administration, Developer) To apply please submit: Resume Cover Letter Compensation: The expected initial salary for this role is $115,00.00 - $130,00.00 annually

Actual compensation may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge and skills, education, experience, certifications, geographic location, and organizational needs.
