Job description

Technologist Inc. is seeking an experienced GIS Analyst to join our team at Peterson SFB in Colorado Springs.

Serve as a GIS specialist for technical work in engineering graphics with Geographic Information System (GIS) programs.

Perform GIS related tasks for Peterson SFB and assigned (GSU’s) Geographically Separated Units.

Develop GIS related drafting and mapping programs, applications, software guidance, standards and instructions. Must have a basic understanding of the Spatial Data Standards for Facilities, Infrastructure, and Environment (SDSFIE) and Architect, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) standards.

Coordinate with other GIS staff in the creation of user-friendly applications for use by other disciplines for managing, viewing, mapping and analyzing spatially oriented data. Maintains and updates existing facility record of drawings, recommends modifications and ensures facility data for CADD/GIS databases are accurate and current.

Expected comprehensive knowledge of ArcGIS Pro, ArcSDE, ArcCatalog, AutoCAD, MS Access, MS Excel, and Oracle. Skill in designing, organizing, and managing diverse digital databases and geodatabases; is highly desirable.

Shall have comprehensive, practical knowledge of, and skill in applying theories, principles, practices, and application of cartography sufficient to analyze and manipulate data from surveying, cartographic, architectural, and engineering sources in order to develop and implement interactive mapping services and data visualization to the installation.

Requirements

  • At least 5 (five) years of experience working as a GIS analyst or related occupation.
  • At least a high school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check at the level of Public Trust.

  • Experience designing, organizing, and managing diverse digital databases and geodatabases.
  • Deep knowledge of ArcGIS Pro, ArcSDE, ArcCatalog, AutoCAD, MS Access, MS Excel, and Oracle.
