Job Description

The Asset Information Management Analyst role supports the planning, maintenance, and optimization of public infrastructure assets through GIS, data analysis, business process improvement, and stakeholder advisory services. This role serves as a bridge between engineering, operations, planning, and technology teams by developing geospatial solutions, managing asset data, automating workflows, and providing recommendations that improve infrastructure decision-making.

The ideal candidate combines analytical thinking, GIS expertise, and consulting capabilities to transform asset data into actionable insights that support capital planning, regulatory compliance, asset lifecycle management, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Asset Management & Analytics

  • Maintain and enhance infrastructure asset inventories with an emphasis on transportation,
  • Analyze data for asset condition, risk, performance, and lifecycle data to support planning.
  • Assist in developing asset management plans, performance metrics, and reporting dashboards.
  • Identify trends, gaps, and opportunities within asset datasets.

GIS & Spatial Analysis

  • Develop, maintain, and manage GIS databases and geodatabases.
  • Create web maps, dashboards, applications, and geospatial data products.
  • Perform spatial analysis to support infrastructure planning and operational decisions.
  • Maintain data quality standards across GIS and asset management systems.
  • Integrate CAD, LiDAR, survey, and field-collected data into enterprise GIS environments.

Process Improvement & Automation

  • Design workflows using ArcGIS tools, Python, Power Automate, and related technologies.
  • Automate validation, transformation, and reporting processes.
  • Improve business processes related to asset inventory management and operations.
  • Develop tools that increase efficiency and reduce manual data entry.

Advisory & Stakeholder Support

  • Act as an advisor to agency staff, including engineering, operations, planning, and public works personnel.
  • Gather business requirements and translate operational needs into technical solutions.
  • Facilitate discussions regarding data governance, GIS standards, and asset management best practices.
  • Support creation of materials for presentations, reports, and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Support organizational initiatives involving digital transformation and infrastructure modernization.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS + None or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geography, Geospatial Science, Environmental Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
  • Experience supporting transportation, utilities, municipal, environmental, or infrastructure assets.
  • 1+ years of GIS, asset management, engineering support, or geospatial analysis experience.
  • Experience with ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and Enterprise GIS environments.
  • Experience managing and analyzing geospatial datasets.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with:

  • Experience designing automated workflows and data integration processes.
