Job description

Overview

We're looking for a driven and innovative professional who is passionate about geospatial technology and eager to transform data into meaningful insights. In this role, you'll leverage cutting-edge GIS tools, mapping technologies, and spatial analytics to support projects that impact transportation networks, utilities, municipal infrastructure, environmental resources, land development, and asset management programs.


Collaborate in a dynamic GIS team environment, and other company departments to understand and assist in leading GIS project type task goals, provide technology recommendations, and deploy GIS applications using Esri tools for desktop and Esri enterprise environments. Lead project database management, spatial analysis, enterprise solution configuration and implementation while following, creating and maintaining GIS company standards procedures and Esri standard template files.

Responsibilities
  • Deep knowledge and ability to collect, analyze, and prepare GIS data into informative map product deliverables and application deliverables for our clients internally and externally.
  • Create Esri Web Apps and Web Maps through ArcGIS Online and Portal for internal and external clients.
  • Assist in the preparation of ArcGIS Enterprise project data and applications.
  • Install and configure Esri ArcGIS Online accounts for clients.
  • Lead project specific duties in setting up project data environment, and assisting with the deployment of such project tasks.
  • Quality check project geodatabases and field data collection data from GPS technology.
  • Complete assignments in the specific time periods requested while ensuring accuracy, completeness, quality, and thoroughness of results.
  • Work independently with clients on-site and virtually to assist in guiding GIS program implementations and project deliverables.
  • Provide training to our clients on use of Esri project data, and program / app deliverables.
  • Understand and follow company GIS standard operating procedures.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in GIS, Geography, or other related A&E degree.
  • Esri Utility Network Certification.
  • 5+ years of professional experience working in the field of GIS, Information Technology, or Engineering.
  • 1-3 years of experience with Esri Utility Networks (Electric, Water, Sanitary Sewer, Stormwater) preferred.
  • 5 years of experience with Esri ArcPro, Esri ArcGIS online apps StoryMaps, ArcGIS Dashboard, Experience Builder, Field Maps, Survey123, Workforce.
  • Availability to travel to conferences, client sites for project tasks and meetings, assist in field work if needed.
  • Able to prioritize work assignments, accommodate project deadlines, work in the private A&E industry of fast paced multi-task / project environment.
  • Participate in external GIS professional organizations (GPN Mid-Atlantic, Esri Conferences, GIS regional organizations).
  • Project focus are most typically focused on government service GIS applications, stormwater, water systems, sanitary sewer, electric, oil, gas, fiber, transportation assets, facility, transportation, and property management.
  • Extensive abilities in using Esri desktop and enterprise products.
  • Act as a Technical Mentor for staff members.
  • High level technical skills, technical writing and verbal communication with clients and staff.
  • Aptitude for technical and mathematic competency.
  • High level people person skills.
  • Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Planner, Teams).
  • GPS Processes (Eos, Trimble).
  • Esri Utility Network.
  • Experience with Asset Management Products is a plus, such as: Cartegraph Systems and VUEWorks Asset Management, Cityworks, Brightly, Maximo.
  • Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
