Job description

SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Community Engagement Manager - District 16 oversees all facets of the volunteer experience and recruitment of girls and adults in their assigned geographic area. District 16 includes the public and private schools in Schuyler, Scotland, Clark, Lewis and Knox counties.

The position represents and promotes Girl Scouting in the community through collaboration and networking, to ensure the Girl Scout program is accessible to girls across all demographic groups.

At Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri, most of our roles work in a hybrid capacity (in office, remote, and/or in the field). Details will be provided during the interview process.

This position is full time with a competitive starting annualized starting salary ofย $47,448. Experience is considered.

Essential Job Duties

โ€ขย ย  ย Research market data and other pertinent information to gain knowledge of demographics, community needs, and possibilities for girl and adult recruitment.ย 
โ€ขย ย  ย Create and implement short- and long-term strategies for the recruitment and retention of new girl and adult membership.ย 
โ€ขย ย  ย Hold community recruitment events for registration and placement of new members.ย 
โ€ขย ย  ย Represent and promote Girl Scouting in the community, building community awareness by highlighting the benefits of membership to the public.ย 
โ€ขย ย  ย Build a rapport/relationship with schools within the jurisdiction.ย 
โ€ขย ย  ย Oversee the volunteer experience for all participating adults in assigned area, providing a high level of support for all volunteer roles.ย 
โ€ขย ย  ย Ensure overall compliance with any applicable internal policies, guidelines and funding source regulations.ย 
โ€ขย ย  ย Serve as a collaborative team member, working to advance the mission of Girl Scouts.
โ€ขย ย  ย Perform other duties as required and/or assigned.ย 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field or equivalent experience required.
  • Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED certification or the ability to obtain such within 6 months of employment.
  • Valid state driverโ€™s license, proof of insurance, and a driving record that is acceptable to our insurance carrier.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Understanding of the sales environment, including sales and marketing techniques, networking, goal-setting, and cold calling.
  • Strong leadership skills, with good active listening skills and the ability to effectively motivate people.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, databases, registration systems, and other general office equipment.
  • Organized thinker with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing, and the ability to speak and present confidently and credibly in public.
  • Ability to provide a high level of customer service to internal and external customers, and to represent the organization in a professional manner.ย 
  • ย Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work as well as concentrate on multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work in an environment of confidential data, and keep information confidential and private.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule (days, evenings, weekends) and travel throughout the jurisdiction.
