Position Summary 

The Matching Gifts and Gift Attribution Specialist ensures that corporate matching gifts, pass-through contributions, grant-related gifts, and other third-party donations are accurately identified, attributed, reconciled, and recorded.  

This position researches gifts received through employers, foundations, donor-advised funds, workplace-giving programs, online platforms, and other intermediaries to determine the originating donor and appropriate designation. The Specialist works across Administrative Operations, Donor Relations, Development, Finance, and Reporting to resolve exceptions, maintain accurate donor records, and ensure revenue is credited and acknowledged appropriately.  

The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, persistent in researching incomplete information, comfortable working across multiple systems, and committed to excellent stewardship of every gift entrusted to PreBorn!

Requirements:

Qualifications 

Required 

  • Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. 
  • Two or more years of experience in gift processing, nonprofit operations, donor services, accounts receivable, reconciliation, data administration, or a related area. 
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy. 
  • Demonstrated ability to research and resolve incomplete or conflicting information. 
  • Experience working with databases, CRM systems, spreadsheets, or financial records. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Ability to manage multiple open items, deadlines, and follow-up activities. 
  • Sound judgment when handling confidential donor and financial information. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively across various PreBorn teams. 

Preferred 

  • Experience with nonprofit fundraising operations or charitable gift processing. 
  • Experience with corporate matching gifts, donor-advised funds, workplace giving, foundations or pass-through platforms. 
  • Experience using Virtuous CRM or comparable donor-management system. 
  • Experience reconciling transaction data across CRM, payment and accounting systems. 
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including filters, lookups, pivot tables, and data comparison. 
  • Familiarity with gift restrictions, recognition credit, acknowledgments, and nonprofit receipting practices.
