GGCs typically refer to 'Globular Cluster Galaxies' or more commonly 'Globular Clusters' in astronomy. These are spherical collections of stars that orbit the core of a galaxy as a satellite. Globular clusters are tightly bound by gravity, which gives them their spherical shapes and relatively high stellar densities toward their centers. They are among the oldest known objects in the universe and provide important clues about the formation and evolution of galaxies.
