Job Overview for Outdoor General Laborers
The Lee Group is seeking dependable, hardworking Outdoor General Laborers for one of our valued clients in Chesapeake, VA. This is a hands-on position performed primarily outdoors throughout the workday in varying weather conditions. If you enjoy staying active, working outside, and doing physical, hands-on work, this could be a great opportunity for you.
As an Outdoor General Laborer, you will perform a variety of utility support, meter-related, and general field maintenance duties. This role involves extensive walking, physical activity, and working outdoors throughout the shift. The ideal candidate is dependable, comfortable working independently and as part of a crew, and committed to safety and excellent service.
Job Responsibilities of Outdoor General Laborers
  • Perform daily work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Read, inspect, and document utility meter information along assigned routes.
  • Inspect, remove, replace, and assist with repairs of utility meters and related equipment.
  • Assist with general field maintenance and cleanup of work areas.
  • Support crews with material handling, equipment setup, and site preparation.
  • Operate company vehicles safely while traveling between assigned job sites.
  • Maintain accurate records and complete required reports.
  • Interact professionally with customers and the public when necessary.
  • Follow all safety procedures, wear required PPE, and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications of Outdoor General Laborers
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required.
