A Get Back Coach is responsible for ensuring that players, coaches, and personnel stay off the field and within designated areas during a game. Their primary job is to prevent penalties by keeping the sidelines organized and making sure no one accidentally interferes with the game. This role is especially important in high-intensity moments when excitement can lead to sideline infractions. The Get Back Coach often works closely with the head coach and staff to maintain order. While it may seem minor, their role helps avoid unnecessary penalties and maintain team discipline.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Get Back Coach?

To thrive as a Get Back Coach, you need a strong understanding of sideline management protocols, situational awareness, and basic sports safety knowledge, highlighted by experience or training in athletic event logistics. Familiarity with communication devices such as two-way radios and adherence to league-specific guidelines (like NFL operational policies) are typically required. Excellent focus, quick decision-making, and calmness under pressure are top soft skills for this role. These abilities are essential because they ensure the safety of coaches and players while maintaining smooth on-field operations during high-intensity athletic events.

What are the main challenges faced by a Get Back Coach during a game?

A primary challenge for Get Back Coaches is maintaining constant vigilance to keep coaching staff and players safely behind the designated lines, especially during fast-paced and emotionally charged moments in the game. This role often requires assertive, yet respectful, communication and the ability to react instantly to shifting on-field situations. Additionally, Get Back Coaches must balance enforcing safety protocols while fostering a cohesive approach with coaching and medical staff. Tennis Professional / Tennis CoachWimbledon Tennis & Pickleball Club | Walpole, MAFull-Time or Part-Time | Year-Round Pay: $37-$50/hour,
Love the game? Come teach it.
We're looking for a tennis pro who lights up the court - someone who brings energy to every lesson, connects with players of every age and level, and makes our courts the place members can't wait to get back to. Full-time home base or part-time gig that fits your life - we've got a spot for you either way.
If you live and breathe tennis, hold your USPTA or USPTR certification, and know how to turn a nervous beginner into a confident player (or a weekend warrior into a competitive one), let's talk.
Why This Job
You're not building this from scratch. We've got a thriving member base, a team that has your back, and a culture built on doing things right and having fun while we do it. This is a place where a great tennis pro doesn't just teach - they build a career, a following, and a name for themselves in the club.
What's In It For You
  • Full-time or part-time - you pick what fits your life
  • $37-$50/hour based on experience and certifications
  • Medical & Dental benefits (full-time)
  • Retirement contributions
  • Staff perks & employee discounts across all Momentum Enterprises brands
  • Real, honest opportunities to grow within the organization

What You'll Do
  • Coach private and group lessons for juniors and adults at every level
  • Lead CMITA/DBH/USTA team practices, adult clinics, and Cardio Tennis
  • Run junior development programs, camps, and clinics that keep kids (and parents) coming back
  • Track player progress and coach in a way that actually keeps people motivated
  • Be a visible, energetic presence in the club - build relationships, promote programs, create buzz
  • Help plan and run tournaments, socials, and racquet programs
  • Jump into pickleball programming when we need an extra hand

What You Bring
  • USPTA or USPTR certification required
  • Real coaching experience with teams, clinics, and players of all ages
  • The kind of personality that makes members look forward to their lesson
  • Strong communication skills with kids and adults alike
  • CPR/AED certified (or willing to get certified)
  • Flexible availability including evenings and weekends
