For our Data & AI (Team Data Engineering) in Ulm we are looking for a Data Platform Engineer (m/f/d).

We're seeking a Data Platform Engineer (m/w/d) with a knack for problem-solving and a passion for technology to join our team. Your mission will be to develop and maintain our data ecosystem, using Databricks to create a seamless, scalable platform. Your work will be critical in enabling the Liebherr Group to process and analyze data more effectively, turning complex datasets into valuable insights.

Creating passion: your responsibilities
  • Improve and extend the current analytics and AI infrastructure (built around Databricks)
  • Drive the data platform by observing the fast Data and AI landscape and bringing in new ideas
  • Maintain our stack by extending our setup with security measures, monitoring, auditing, policies, and (data) observability
  • Build tools, templates, and processes (e.g. CI/CD) for efficient data ingestion and management
  • Enable colleagues from the Liebherr Group by providing guidance, best practices, and blueprint architectures
  • Support Data Scientists and Data Engineers with Data and AI tooling
Contributing your strengths: your qualifications
  • M.Sc. Computer Science or related technical field with a focus on (Data) Platform Engineering
  • Proficiency in building secure and scalable data platforms using cloud technologies with focus on security, networking, authentication, etc.
  • Proficiency with cloud providers (e.g. Azure, AWS) and container technologies (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Proficiency with CI/CD (preferably GitHub Actions) and IaC (preferably Terraform / Terragrunt)
  • Experience with Databricks / Spark, data lakes as well as SQL- and NoSQL databases
  • Experience with development and operation of distributed systems
  • Excellent programming skills (e.g. Python or GoLang) and basic experience with Data Science or Machine Learning
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills in German & English
