Brief Role Description
This position is a career level 20P, and is located in Reston, VA with a role classification of Hybrid.
This role will be responsible for supporting the financial close and reporting process, delivering accurate, timely, and insightful reporting to senior leadership, business partners, as well as AUDI AG. The specialist will own the monthly management reporting, provide variance analysis, and support decision-making. In addition, this role will be responsible for the financial planning and forecasting of various financial statement line-items and providing required reporting information to Germany.
Possible Tasks within this Role
Financial Close & Reporting - 50%
  • Support the monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close activities for Audi of America Controlling
  • Prepare Controlling/internal profit and loss statement used for steering purposes, ensuring alignment with with VW Group reporting standards and position plan
  • Conduct financial variance analysis of profit and loss actuals vs. plan, identifying key drivers for deviations through analysis and collaboration with Controllers and business units as needed
  • Provide clear commentary on financial variances vs. budget, forecast, and prior periods
  • Responsible for monthly system input of actuals information into VW Group product profitability management tool (ZEUS) for Audi of America
  • Provide support for the external financial audit as required during quarterly reviews and for year-end
  • Act as liaison to Accounting Services function in support of ensuring proper technical reporting and treatment of financial statement impacts
  • Collaborate with counterparts in Audi Canada and VWGoA as necessary to ensure consistent reporting and processes

Planning, Analysis & Management Reporting - 40%
  • Support the consolidation and review of monthly financial forecast for Audi of America
  • Provide clear and insightful commentary on financial variances vs. budget, forecast, and prior periods
  • Lead the financial planning and forecasting of profit and loss and balance sheet items, such as inventory and capital investment, other income/expense, interest income/expense, and others
  • Responsible for monthly system input of planning information into VW Group product profitability management tool (ZEUS) for Audi of America
  • Responsible for Monthly Finance Report distributed to AoA, VWGoA, and AUDI AG, ensuring the complete, accurate, and timely reporting of the profit and loss and other market or financial information
  • Responsible for system bi-annual system input of planning information into VW Group consolidation system (FACTS) for Audi of America
  • Lead preparation of financial information for bi-annual financial reviews and supervisory board meetings
  • Conduct ad-hoc analysis for finance leadership in support of strategic initiatives and decision-making
