PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
Supports and assists qualified mechanics in the inspection, repair, testing, adjustment, installation and removal of nuclear power plant equipment.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Inspects and Maintains o Turbines o Heat Exchangers o Pumps o Valves o Fans, Blowers and Dampers o Air Compressors
Successfully completes 100 series fundamental training and attains 100 series qualifications to independently perform basic maintenance tasks such as using measuring and test equipment, power tools and shop equipment.
Successfully completes 200 and 250 series maintenance initial classroom and hands-on task training and evaluation.
Upon completion of 200 and 250 series training and until the applicable ANSI experience time requirement is met, performs 200 and 250 series tasks under direct supervision of qualified mechanics.
Performs emergency response duties as assigned.
Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED
Relevant technical training, trade school or work experience
Must possess a good mechanical and technical aptitude as evidenced by successfully passing the EEI Maintenance System Selection (MASS) test.
Meets the requirements of Company and Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) psychological, drug, alcohol, and medical testing policies and/or regulations.
Satisfactorily completes General Employee and Radiation Worker training, including respirator qualifications and maintains unescorted access.
May be subject to certification and recertification with periodic reviews if required by NRC or industry standards.
Must be physically capable of performing the essential functions of this position.
Any modification mandated by law or regulation enacted by a governmental agency that affects either the duties or qualifications of this position will become a part of this job specification.
