Job description

JOB SUMMARY

NOV is looking for a Business Development Professional for the HOSS product line to drive strategic growth with an emphasis on multistage horizontal pump systems (HPS) across key markets within our US Land region. This role will support regional sales teams with existing accounts, identify and expand market share in applications that include saltwater disposal (SWD), CO2, NGL, geothermal, mining, industrial etc. This role involves technical sales, managing complex sales cycles, and building relationships with end users, distributors, engineers and EPCs (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction firms) to provide engineered pumping solutions. Overall, a Business Development Manager plays a crucial role in driving revenue growth, fostering client satisfaction, and contributing to the overall success of NOV's business.  

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and execute regional business development strategies to grow HPS sales and market share.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, including operators, EPCs, and distributors by understanding their business needs, challenges, and objectives
  • Identify and pursue new project opportunities across target markets.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to identify opportunities for business growth and product improvement.
  • Collaborate with internal teams in sales, product development, engineering, service, and operations to develop customer-specific solutions.
  • Provide market insights and competitive intelligence to support regional sales planning.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, account plans, and forecast sales trends.
  • Represent NOV at industry events, trade shows, and customer meetings across the region.
  • Support contract negotiation and close high-value commercial agreements.

FACILITY/GROUP SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • New sales

  • Learn and continue education of technical skills related to HPS equipment.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 5-10 years of experience in business development, technical sales, or account management within the production oil and gas industry.
  • Proven background selling or managing Horizontal Pumping Systems (HPS) or similar rotating equipment mum of two years of sales account management preferred.
  • Established relationships with key operators and rotating equipment distributors within US Land.
  • Strong commercial acumen and technical understanding of surface production equipment
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Strong entrepreneurial and interpersonal skills

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Sales Experience: A proven track record in sales, preferably a minimum of two years of HPS, rotating equipment, artificial lift, or oilfield experience in a B2B environment, with a strong understanding of sales techniques and strategies.
  • Relationship Building: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients, understand their needs, and provide effective solutions.
  • Communication Skills: Clear and persuasive communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to articulate complex ideas and negotiate effectively.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical critical thinking, and problem-solving skills to interpret sales data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple accounts simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in rotating equipment, pump curves and hydraulics, HPS system design, understanding of pump mechanics, knowledge of VFD's, using sales CRM software, Microsoft Office Suite, and other relevant tools for sales management, reporting, and HPS system design.
  • Adaptability: Willingness to adapt to changing market conditions, customer preferences, and company priorities to achieve sales targets.
  • Travel: Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
