Description

C.T. Male Associates, an employee-owned, multi-discipline engineering, surveying, and architectural firm based in the Capital Region, is seeking a motivated Geotechnical Engineer to join our Latham, NY office.

This role offers the opportunity to be involved in all phases of geotechnical engineering projects and collaboration with a team of technical professionals across disciplines. Join a community that strives to help you reach your greatest potential.

What You’ll Do:

  • Complete geotechnical engineering work as directed.
  • Responsible for all aspects of geotechnical engineering projects including monitoring of exploration programs, soil classification, and engineering analysis.
  • Perform field work, including monitoring of drilling test borings, monitoring well installation, field soil and rock classification, and complete field tests.
  • Assist with preparation of proposals and engineering reports.
  • Prepare design calculations, sketches, and technical specifications for geotechnical engineering portions of projects.
  • Coordinate field work with clients and subcontractors.
  • Provide construction observations, submittal and RFI review, and other construction phase services for geotechnical portions of projects.

Pay Range: $72,000 - $90,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.


Requirements

What You’ll Bring to the Team:

  • Bachelor of Science or higher in Geotechnical or Civil Engineering.
  • Two to seven (2-7) years of post-graduation experience.
  • Experience with monitoring of subsurface explorations, soil classification, laboratory testing, shallow foundation design, deep foundation design, retaining wall design, slope stability analysis, dam design, and technical writing skills.
  • Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and navigate diverse terrain.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, Geostudio software preferred.
  • Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) 40-hour training preferred.
  • ​​​​​​​Valid driver’s license.
