Job description

Lead Survey Principal - Top ENR Firm - Bridgeport, WV

Step into a true leadership role where you own the direction of a growing survey practice, instead of just delivering on someone else’s projects. This is a Principal-level opportunity with a national, employee-owned civil and environmental consulting firm that combines small-office autonomy in Bridgeport, WV with big-firm resources, benefits, and stability. You’ll lead the survey group, mentor talent, and help drive business in one of the state’s most active development markets.

Position Highlights

  • Title: Professional Surveyor / Principal (Survey Practice Leader)
  • Location: Bridgeport, West Virginia – office just off I-79, walkable to restaurants
  • Work setup: Primarily in-office with flexibility; collaborative team environment
  • Compensation: Competitive base salary (DOE) + paid overtime + performance bonuses + profit sharing
  • Long-term upside: Company-matched 401(k), employee stock program, and clear leadership path
  • Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, short/long-term disability, tuition assistance, generous PTO, and strong professional development support

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and grow the local survey team, mentoring surveyors and technicians and fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture
  • Oversee quality, safety, and delivery of survey projects, ensuring accurate, on-time work and efficient workflows
  • Manage and review a variety of survey types, including boundary, ALTA/NSPS, topographic, utility/route, subdivision/plats, and construction layout/as-builts
  • Partner with other discipline leaders (civil, environmental, geotechnical, etc.) to support integrated project delivery
  • Contribute to client relationships and business development efforts, helping identify new opportunities in the region

What We’re Looking For

  • Licensed Professional Surveyor (PS) in West Virginia, or the ability to obtain WV licensure in a reasonable timeframe
  • Approximately 10+ years of land surveying experience, with some track record of team leadership or mentoring
  • Solid hands-on background with common survey project types (boundary, ALTA/NSPS, topographic, construction layout, etc.)
  • Comfortable balancing technical oversight, project management, and people leadership
  • Strong communication skills and a desire to grow a practice, not just manage a project list

Why This Role

  • Lead an established survey group in a fast-growing office, not a cold start
  • Join an employee-owned firm where you can earn bonuses, profit sharing, and stock as you help the practice grow
  • Work alongside experienced civil, environmental, and geotechnical professionals on diverse, interesting projects across West Virginia
  • Enjoy a culture that emphasizes people, mentorship, inclusion, and long-term career growth

If you’re a licensed surveyor (or close) who wants a bigger say in how the work is done and where the practice is headed, this Principal-level role in Bridgeport is designed for you. Please send me your resume to danieln@noorstaffing.com
