NV5 is seeking an Geotechnical Engineer for our Charlotte, NC location.
Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the geotechnical engineering team, providing technical guidance and mentorship.
  • Oversee the planning, design, and implementation of geotechnical investigations and analyses.
  • Develop and review geotechnical reports, proposals, and project documentation.
  • Collaborate with clients, project managers, and other engineering disciplines to ensure project success.
  • Conduct site visits and field inspections to assess soil and rock conditions.
  • Utilize advanced geotechnical software for modeling and analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Participate in business development activities, including client meetings and proposal preparation.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in geotechnical engineering and incorporate them into practice.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field (master's or Ph.D. preferred).
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required. (or ability to become registered in North Carolina within 3 months of hire).
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in geotechnical engineering, with a proven track record of successful project delivery.
  • Strong knowledge of geotechnical principles, soil mechanics, and foundation design.
  • Demonstrated above-average technical capabilities and working knowledge of basic geotechnical software (LPILE, FB-DEEP, SPW911, SETTL3D, SLOPE/W etc). Geotechnical numerical modeling skills a definite plus.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Experience with business development and client relationship management is a plus.
