Summary:
The Senior GIS Specialist, through direct action, supports all field divisions, the engineering department and utilizes the business unit's Geospatial Information System (GIS) in support of specialized mapping and pipeline integrity objectives. Ability to convey GIS/spatial information to non-GIS personnel - either written, oral or cartographic.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Performs updates to the Corporate GIS Database with As-built records
  • Maintains Compliance Data and creates Ad-Hoc maps and reports on an as-needed basis by requesting departments.
  • Supports mapping services to the Business Units, including Marketing Department, Tax Department, Executives, etc., as well as provides technical expertise to the other managers for services provided by or related to pipeline information and GIS systems.
  • Will perform geospatial overlays to create data sets for ad-hoc data requests.
  • Supports applications deployed and maintained by the GIS group.

Requirements: Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:
  • Bachelor's degree or additional equivalent experience
  • Thorough knowledge of CFR 192 and 195 relating to Class Calculation and HCA Determination
  • Minimum 5 years' experience with ArcGIS.
  • Thorough understanding of GIS Database structures and implementations
  • Broad Knowledge of database query tools and the SQL language
  • Knowledge of ESRI's ArcGIS Pro and Enterprise Software, with an in-depth understanding of pipeline systems and a good general knowledge of Microsoft Office Products.
Working Conditions: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
1. Usually, normal office working conditions.
2. Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
3. Occasional overnight travel may be required.
4. Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings which may include hazardous materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
