Job description

GFT is currently seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Sr. Project Manager, Geospatialย to join our team, focusing on Asset Management Services. This position offers a hybrid or remote work arrangement, with onsite presence in Chicago as needed based on project demands.

What you'll be challenged to do:

We are looking for a motivated, organized, and communicative professional who thrives in fast-paced environments, demonstrates leadership, and has experience with documenting complex business processes, eliciting business requirements, modeling business process, compiling use cases and user stories, and supporting the design of workflows and operations. The candidate should have experience with asset management, information technology, and/or GIS technology.

In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:ย 

  • Lead and facilitate meetings; prepare agendas and detailed meeting minutes.
  • Participate in requirements elicitation with client to define needs
  • Document As-Is environment and model business workflows
  • Support the compilation of To-Be environment and business workflows
  • Participate in agile and waterfall software development lifecycles
  • Author software requirements specifications, design specifications, and training documentation
  • Develop training materials and support training class delivery based on varying client needs
  • Work in multi-disciplinary project teams made up of software developers, GIS analysts, technical managers, engineers and business subject matter experts
  • Participate in project team meetings with client mgmt. and other contractors
  • Evaluate and document business needs assessments and perform gap analysis
  • Resolve problems within working teams and with clients
  • Compile user stories with the requisite details and acceptance criteria
  • Develop and execute test cases to confirm system requirements
  • Generate mock-ups, wireframes, or related graphics to illustrate requirements or workflows.
  • Experience with asset management principles, best practices and methodologies
  • Apply planning concepts and develop processes related to asset inventory, lifecycle management, condition assessments, state of good repair and other asset management activities.
What you will bring to our firm:ย 
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A., B.S., or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in business operations and workflow analysis, training, client relations, public speaking, technical writing and/or project life cycle documentation
  • Minimum of 8 years of business analyst experience in GIS and asset management. (Transportation market preferred)
  • Strong ability to engage with personnel at all organizational levels.
  • Excellent verbal communication and organizational skillsย 
  • Excellent written and oral communicationย skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of application and data management principles.
  • Familiarity and experience on agile and waterfall projects
  • Ability to work directly with clients to gather requirements based on their needs and translate those requirements into tasks for developers
  • Ability to assess and evaluate client asset inventory and management processes.
  • Experience with GIS and asset management services to support clients.

  • Familiarity with GIS and/or geospatial technology
  • Experience with Azure DevOps and/or JIRA
  • Experience working as a consultant with government clients
  • Experience managing small projects
  • Experience with asset lifecycle cost analysis, including acquisition, maintenance, and disposal costs.
  • Ability to develop and document standard operating procedures for asset acquisition, maintenance, disposal, and other related lifecycle activities.
ย Compensation:The salary range for this role is $150,000 - $180,000.
