Geospatial and Remote Sensing Analyst

The Opportunity:

With cloud-based tools, faster GPUs, and the explosion of connected devices, geospatial data has more potential than ever. As a skilled geospatial and remote sensing analyst you can turn data into valuable information. If that sounds like you, we have an opportunity for you to use your geospatial analysis skills to transform Earth science observation datasets. You'll assess and recommend integration pathways with Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) and Open-Source GIS technology. You will recommend approaches for hybridized GIS system and implement and report daily and monthly metrics for GIS service usage. You will also assess, recommend, and implement scientific geospatial workflows Publishes, clones, and nominates scientific data collections as image services.

You Have:

  • 5+ years of experience in Python, including arcpy, arcgis, and boto3 libraries

  • Experience developing geospatial processing workflows using raster data and scientific data formats

  • Experience performing Analysis of Alternatives to explore innovative integration of GIS technology to meet actionable requirements

  • Experience providing technical assessments, recommendations, and summaries to inform enterprise strategies

  • Experience assessing and implementing geospatial development activities such as front-end application, back-end processing, data configuration, and raster functions

  • Experience analyzing geospatial tools to evaluate maturity, utilization pathways, and adoption potential

  • Experience with AWS services related to ArcGIS Enterprise deployment, including EC2, S3, Lambda, and IAM

  • Experience handling geospatial data formats, such as Multidimensional data, Raster data, GeoTIFF, Mosaic Datasets, Raster Catalogs, NetCDFS, and CRFs

  • Knowledge of writing scripts to automate image data ingestion, processing, publishing and service development

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Experience with QGIS

  • Knowledge of Spatio-Temporal Asset Catalog

  • Ability to manage ArcGIS REST API endpoints for service creation and updates

  • Ability to implement error handling, logging, and notifications for automation tasks and automating data uploads and updates to image services

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,600.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
