Job Description Join a growing team supporting high-value subsurface projects where your attention to detail and data discipline directly impact operational decisions. This is a hands-on opportunity to work with petrophysical and geological datasets in a dynamic environment, offering variety in day-to-day tasks and close collaboration with technical experts. Local candidates only, working on a hybrid schedule in Houston, TX.

About the Role: This role focuses on ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and usability of petrophysical and geological data across multiple systems and projects. You will support geoscientists and engineers by preparing, loading, and editing data, as well as performing rigorous data quality checks. Your work will help maintain trusted datasets that underpin critical analysis and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities: Perform data quality assessment and validation on petrophysical and geological datasets to ensure completeness, consistency, and accuracy. Prepare, format, and standardize data for loading into corporate databases, applications, and project-specific repositories. Load and update well logs, core data, seismic attributes, and related subsurface datasets into designated systems.

Edit, correct, and reconcile data discrepancies based on established standards, business rules, and feedback from technical users. Maintain data inventory and tracking logs, documenting changes, sources, and status for assigned datasets. Collaborate with geoscientists, petrophysicists, and engineers to understand data requirements and resolve data issues.

Execute routine data maintenance tasks, including archiving, backups, and clean-up of legacy or duplicate records. Support ad hoc data extraction and delivery requests, ensuring timely and accurate provision of required datasets. Key Requirements: Proven experience working with petrophysical and/or geological data in an energy, oil and gas, or related subsurface domain.

Hands-on experience with data quality assessment, validation, and error resolution. Demonstrated ability to prepare, load, and edit data in technical databases or data management systems. Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling large, complex datasets.

Proficiency with spreadsheets and basic data manipulation tools for formatting and quality checks. Ability to follow defined data standards, workflows, and procedures. Strong communication skills to interact effectively with technical stakeholders and clarify data requirements.

Availability to work a hybrid schedule in Houston, TX as a local candidate. Desirable Skills: Experience with industry-standard subsurface data platforms (e.g., Petrel, OpenWorks, Studio, or similar). Familiarity with well log data, core analysis data, and geological interpretations

Exposure to basic scripting or automation tools for data handling (e.g., Python, SQL, or similar). Prior experience in a data management or data coordinator role within geoscience teams. Understanding of data governance practices and metadata standards in subsurface data environments

Qualifications: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Geology, Geoscience, Petrophysics, Data Management, or a related technical field. Relevant technical certifications in data management or subsurface software tools (preferred). Demonstrated on-the-job training or coursework related to data quality, data handling, or geoscience data (preferred).
