The PantherDining Hall at Georgia State University is seeking to hire a Dishwasher II. This position promotes sustainability within dining operations including implementation and maintenance of Somat or similar food pulping procedures.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:
This position works with management to ensure continued compliance with green seal initiatives. Serves as lead person on dishwashing assignments. Assists in the training and development of Dishwasher I, students, and temporary employees on washing methods and procedures.
In addition to "other duties as assigned", this position may be required to be cross-trained for another position and/or responsibility in order to provide both back-up for a department as well as supplement resources needed during certain times of the year.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
  • Properly cleans the cooking utensils and equipment.
  • Restocks all washed items in appropriate area.
  • Maintains the cleanliness of dish machines as well as dish areas.
  • Washes, sorts, replaces, and restocks flatware, serving dishes, china, glasses, and all other washable items.
  • Assists daily in trash removal, cleaning, and maintenance of the back of house operation.
  • Assists in the organization, pick up, and cleaning of laundry area.
  • Ensures the dish machine is properly cleaned and maintained throughout the shift.
  • Oversees assigned student and temporary personnel.

Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED and two years of related experience.

Preferred Hiring Qualifications:
  • Previous dishwashing experience.
  • Excellent customer service.
  • Physical Requirements: Extended standing, walking, ability to bend, stoop, reach, and climb ladders.
  • Ability to lift 35 pounds.
  • Ability to work in all temperature conditions.
  • Flexible schedule to include nights and weekends.

Anticipated Hiring Range: $31,200 - $35,400. Salary offers will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications in relation to the Minimum Hiring Standards. Candidates earlier in their careers are typically offered salaries closer to the minimum of the hiring range, while those with more advanced or relevant experience may be considered for compensation at or above the hiring range.
