Job description

Job Description We're looking for a motivated communications professional to join the Global Media and Strategy Communications team to help drive key initiatives related to business strategy, financial communications and overall brand reputation. Under the direction of the senior manager of Global Media and Strategy, the ideal candidate will become a subject matter expert and develop compelling narratives that support the business area's strategy and key financial communications. This role will develop strategic content, coordinate integrated communications initiatives, and deliver tactics through a variety of both internal and external communications channels including Tier-1 media engagements.

This position serves as a trusted communications partner across the Corporate Communications organization, collaborating closely with CEO/COO Communications, Investor Relations, Finance, Government Affairs, Legal, Global Business Development & Strategy, and business area communications teams. The ideal candidate combines exceptional writing ability with strong business acumen, project management discipline, and intellectual curiosity. This individual is comfortable synthesizing complex business, financial, geopolitical, and national security issues into compelling communications that resonate with diverse audiences.

Key Responsibilities Support Enterprise Strategy Narratives Develop messaging, presentations, briefing materials, talking points, and written content that clearly communicate the larger enterprise strategy and corporate priorities. Translate complex business, financial, technology, and policy topics into compelling talking points tailored for external and internal stakeholders. Drive consistency of messaging across executive communications, enterprise campaigns and media relations.

Provide recommendations for proactive media pitching related to long-term strategic priorities. Support Financial Communications Assist in the development and coordination of communications supporting quarterly earnings, investor messaging, the annual report, and other financial milestones. Develop content that drives key financial narratives for both internal and external audiences to drive business success.

Draft supporting communications materials, including executive talking points, Q&A documents, messaging frameworks, fact sheets, and internal communications. Executive Communications & Thought Leadership Support preparation for media interviews, conferences, customer engagements, and policy forums. Partner to drive significant growth pillar focus areas while partnering with counterparts across the business.

Research emerging industry, defense, geopolitical, technology, and policy developments to strengthen executive positioning. Communications Planning and Operations Manage timelines, deliverables, approvals, editorial planning documents, and cross-functional coordination across multiple concurrent initiatives ensuring that communications activities remain aligned with business priorities. Monitor industry trends, competitor communications, investor sentiment, public policy developments and media narratives.

Produce executive-ready summaries, strategic insights, and communications recommendations. Support measurement of communications effectiveness through media analysis, message penetration, and executive engagement metrics. Serve as a liaison for enterprise messaging resources and as a partner to representatives across the business.

Basic Qualifications Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited college, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 3+ years of professional experience. Experience in corporate communications, public affairs, executive communications, investor relations support, journalism, public policy communications, or related field. Demonstrated experience writing for executive audiences.

Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills. Experience managing multiple concurrent projects with competing priorities. Ability to work independently under general direction while collaborating effectively across teams.

Ability to travel as required. Desired Skills Desired Skills & Experience Experience supporting communications within a publicly traded company, government organization, aerospace and defense company, or strategic communications consulting firm. Familiarity with financial communications, including earnings announcements, annual reporting, investor messaging, or corporate disclosures.

Strong research and analytical capabilities with the ability to synthesize complex information quickly. Experience and/or desire to learn general web development for resource management. Excellent executive writing skills, including speeches, talking points, presentations, briefing documents, and messaging frameworks.

Understanding of media relations, reputation management, and executive positioning. Knowledge of national security, defense, aerospace, technology, or geopolitical issues. Strong organizational and project management skills with exceptional attention to detail.

Proficiency using Microsoft Office, collaboration tools, and communications planning platforms. Who You Are An intellectually curious communications professional who enjoys understanding complex business issues. A strong writer capable of translating technical, financial, and strategic topics into compelling stories.

Compelled to do research and compare multiple sources to develop a robust communications product. A self-starter who works independently while knowing when to seek guidance. Eager to learn from senior leaders while taking ownership of increasingly strategic work.

Success in This Role Looks Like Enterprise messaging is consistently executed across communications products with clarity, accuracy, and alignment. Senior leaders and cross-functional partners view this communicator as a trusted, responsive communications resource. Strategic research and analysis inform communications planning and improve message effectiveness.

Multiple high-priority initiatives are managed simultaneously with strong attention to detail and disciplined execution. This communicator demonstrates increasing ownership of enterprise communications initiatives and is prepared to assume broader strategic responsibilities over time. Pay Information GeoZone Definition: GeoZones are geographic groupings created by Lockheed Martin to align compensation ranges with regional labor markets and cost-of-labor differences across the United States.

Locations are assigned a Geo Zone based on the primary work location of the role. Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 1): $90600.00 - $168200.00 Includes metropolitan areas such as Sunnyvale CA; Pal Alto, CA; New York City metropolitan area; Newark, New Jersey; etc. Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 2): $81500.00 - $151300.00 Includes metropolitan areas such as Denver, CO; King of Prussia, PA; Stratford, CT; Moorestown, NJ; etc

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and can vary from year to year and are tied to a range of performance metrics. For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays
