Location: St. Louis, MO (Onsite)
Reports To: Vice President, Global Supply Chain & ESG
Scope: Global – United States, China, Singapore
Travel Requirement: Some international travel, including travel to China
Number of Direct Reports: 7

The Senior Director, Global Supply Chain is a senior leadership role responsible for end-to-end global supply chain execution, logistics, and transportation across multiple regions and business units. The role provides enterpriselevel leadership over transportation networks, service performance, cost structure, risk mitigation, and continuity of supply during disruption events.

The Senior Director, Global Supply Chain is a global execution, logistics, and risk authority, intentionally separated from sourcing, demand planning, and inventory ownership, while retaining decisive control over transportation strategy, cost governance, and service outcomes.

This position leads geographically dispersed teams and serves as a key escalation authority and strategic partner to leadership and operating companies. Role success will require strong crosscultural leadership capabilities, frequent engagement with Asiabased teams and service providers, and some international travel to support operational execution, partner development, and risk mitigation.

This position is local, onsite 5 days a week in St. Louis, MO. This position is not remote. 

Key Responsibilities

Global Supply Chain Leadership & Strategy

  • Execute a global supply chain strategy aligned with enterprise growth, service, margin, and risk objectives.
  • Serve as a senior advisor to leadership on global supply chain execution risks, geopolitical exposure, transportation constraints, and service readiness.
  • Establish and maintain consistent operating standards, governance, and escalation models across regions.

Global Team Leadership (U.S. & China)

  •  Lead and develop multiregional teams across the U.S., China, and Singapore.
  • Set performance objectives, KPIs, and accountability across logistics, transportation, trade, and operational support functions.
  • Champion crosscultural leadership, succession planning, and organizational development.

Global Logistics, Transportation & Operations

  • Own global logistics and transportation strategy, including ocean, air, drayage, and domestic transportation networks.
  • Maintain executive authority over carrier, NVO, and drayage frameworks, RFQs, and contractual decisions.
  • Lead contract negotiations and performance governance for logistics and transportation partners.

Financial Governance & Cost Management

  • Maintain accountability for global supply chain cost structures, budgets, and intercompany chargebacks.
  • Approve major expenditures, contractual commitments, and systemdriven approvals within delegated authority thresholds.
  • Partner with Finance to ensure transparency, controls, and disciplined financial management.

Risk Management & Business Continuity

  • Lead mitigation strategies related to geopolitical risk, port and labor disruptions, carrier instability, and transportation volatility.
  • Ensure business continuity through network design, routing flexibility, carrier diversification, and contingency execution plans.
  • Provide enterprise leadership and decisionmaking during global disruption events.

Governance, Communication & Stakeholder Management

  • Support global forums and recurring operating cadences on supply chain disruptions.
  • Act as escalation authority for OpCo, regional, and customerimpacting supply chain issues.
  • Deliver clear, concise executivelevel reporting on service performance, cost, and global risk landscape.

Travel Requirements

  • 2 one-week domestic conferences (California & Chicago)
  • 2 trips to Asia. Up to 10 days.   
  • 2-5 other shorter domestic trips to meet with internal stakeholders. 1-2 nights per trip.
  • 1 potential international trip to Europe. Up to 5 days.  

Qualifications & Experience

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, or a related field.
  • 12+ years of progressive supply chain experience, including senior leadership roles.
  • Demonstrated experience leading global logistics, transportation, and operations functions.
  • Strong working knowledge of international logistics and complex supply chains.
  • Proven ability to lead geographically disperse, multicultural teams.
  • Ability to work onsite in St. Louis, MO with regular collaboration across multiple global time zones.
  • Ability to travel internationally required, including extended trips to China and other regions.

Preferred

  • Master’s degree (MBA or equivalent).
  • Experience in importdriven or globally distributed business models.
  • Experience operating in highly disrupted or geopolitically complex supply environments.
