Job description

We are currently seeking a full-time Project Geologist for our Memphis, TN office. This is an excellent opportunity to join and grow EnSafe, getting involved in a variety of projects for a diverse range of clients across the globe.
As a Project Geologist, you will support environmental site assessment, investigation, and remediation projects in an environment that fosters creativity, collaboration at all levels, a culture of support, and professional growth. Under the direction of Project Managers and Senior Geologists, you will contribute to successful project execution through strong technical skills, attention to detail, and collaboration. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
In this position, you will:
  • Prepare and contribute to Work Plans, Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessment Reports, and other technical documents related to site investigation and remediation.
  • Perform and support environmental site assessments, including groundwater, soil, surface water, and soil gas sampling.
  • Conduct and lead field activities and documentation, including sample collection, logging, and adherence to health and safety protocols.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and laboratories for drilling, sampling, and analytical services.
  • Evaluate environmental data and support the development of technical findings and recommendations.
  • Assist with project coordination, including schedule tracking, task execution, and internal communication.
  • Support regulatory compliance documentation as assigned.
  • Participate in internal technical reviews and quality control processes.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
Minimum Skills and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Geology, Environmental Science, or related field.
  • 2-10 years of professional experience in the environmental consulting industry.
  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training and certification (current).
  • Proven experience with multi-media environmental sampling (soil, groundwater, surface water, soil gas) and conducting environmental site assessments (Phase I and Phase II).
  • Familiarity with applicable state and federal environmental regulations.
  • Strong technical writing and documentation skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to travel, including overnight travel.
  • Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to operate a motor vehicle.

Preferred Skills:
  • Geologist in Training (GIT) or Professional Geologist (PG) License.
  • Master's degree in Geology, Environmental Science or related field.
  • Experience with the TDEC Voluntary Oversight and Assistance Program (VOAP).
  • Prior experience supporting remedial investigations and corrective action activities.
  • Experience coordinating field efforts with subcontractors and laboratories.
  • Familiarity with data management, regulatory submittals, and quality control processes.
