Description
ARM Group LLC has an exciting opportunity for an early-career to mid-level environmental scientist/geologist/engineer working full-time on a significant brownfield redevelopment project that is being performed under the oversight of both the MDE and EPA for one of our long-term clients in the Baltimore area. The selected professional will work full-time at the client's location and join an existing environmental team of ARM Group and client engineers and scientists to provide a wide range of services including field data collection, multi-media sampling, drilling oversight, data management/analysis, and technical report preparation. Effective communication with all stakeholders along with the ability to work with a dedicated team to proactively recognize issues, develop solutions, and provide technical guidance will be key to success in this role.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Perform Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments and prepare subsequent reports.
  • Draft technical documents including Site Characterization Reports, routine Groundwater Monitoring Reports, Response Action Plans, Work Plans, and Sampling & Analysis Plans.
  • Pro-actively recognize conditions and problems of non-routine nature, develop solutions, and seek guidance when needed.
  • Perform technical quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) review of work product and collaborate effectively with team members through ARM's peer review and QA/QC processes.
  • Sampling and monitoring of soil, groundwater, surface water, soil gas and indoor air.
  • Detailed description and logging of soil/rock cuttings and cores during drilling activities.
  • Observe and document construction activities of monitoring wells, injection wells, and recovery wells to ensure compliance with technical specifications.
  • Complete daily field reports and test summaries documenting the work being performed.
  • Evaluate and manage large volumes of Laboratory Data
  • Collaborate with other team members to meet deliverables on projects and obtain further knowledge and experience.
  • Effectively communicate with key stakeholders including the client, regulators, project managers, project engineers, and other members of the project team.

Base Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Geology or similar
  • 4-6 years' experience in a related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ArcGIS Pro a plus.
  • Possess excellent analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Team orientated with the ability to perform independent hands-on fieldwork and reporting.
  • A self-starter possessing strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Valid Driver's license in good standing required.

Requirements
  • Master's degree in Geology
  • G.I.T or P.G. certification, or the opportunity to obtain such certifications while employed at ARM Group.
  • OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER, training preferred.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift 30-50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Able to work outside in all climates and conditions.
  • Ability to walk and stand continuously throughout the day, often on uneven surfaces with frequent bending and stooping.

Compensation Description:
$60,000 - $85,000/year, based on experience
