Job Summary:

The Geological Technician provides technical and administrative support to the exploration team. This role is responsible for data gathering, organization, and presentation, as well as preparing maps, cross sections, and managing geological data within specialized software programs.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine and structured work assignments to support exploration activities.
  • Maintain integrity and accuracy of data in geological databases.
  • Create and manage datasets as required by the exploration team.
  • Prepare basic maps and cross sections.
  • Maintain company maps for assigned geographic areas.
  • Provide basic IT support for plotters, workstations, and related equipment.
Required Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with the exploration team.
  • Ability to complete tasks accurately and on time.
  • Self-motivated with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Excellent multitasking and time management skills.
  • Problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
  • High aptitude for learning new skills quickly.
  • Proficiency with computer systems and software.
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Prior experience preferred but not required.
  • Familiarity with geological software (Geographix, Excel, IHS, Enverus, GIS programs) is a plus.
Physical Requirements:

Sedentary work with occasional exertion of up to 10 pounds. Frequent use of hands and fingers for data entry and equipment handling. Close visual acuity for data analysis, computer work, and reading.
