Responsibilities

Engineering Consulting Services (ECS) is seeking a highly motivated Environmental Staff Project Manager to join our team. This role performs specific field tasks assigned per project by more senior staff. Your growth in responsibility will come with time and experience. This work will be field based with limited office work as experience is gained. An ideal candidate presents a positive customer service attitude and understanding of ECS Core Values.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interact and collaborate with staff members on a variety of projects
  • Attend project meetings with senior staff and assist with resolutions to technical and administrative problems
  • Begin to learn about marketing and business development with a focus on building your client database and maintaining regular client contacts
  • Begin to learn how to manage project budgets and the need for change orders. Prepare invoices and assist with collection efforts
  • Scheduling, training and oversight of subordinate staff members
  • Basic ability to prioritize tasks to meet project deadlines. Consult with your supervisor to help prioritize tasks on a daily basis.
  • Develop management capabilities of environmental projects including the application of technical support, with supervisory input as needed.
  • Assist with preparation of proposals for training and developmental purposes.
  • Prepare environmental reports, perform analysis and provide recommendations in collaboration with senior staff
  • Have completed internal Phase I ESA training.
  • Complete Phase I ESAs under the direction of supervisor
  • Perform site reconnaissance, file review and report preparation accompanied by senior staff
  • Possesses acceptable basic technical writing skills with regard to basic conventions of spelling, grammar, and professional content. Collaborates with more senior staff to produce reports. Works to improve writing skills, as necessary, under the direction of supervisors and Principal reviewers.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor and/or Master of Science in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or other Engineering degree applicable to Environmental Consulting, Natural or Environmental Science, Geology, or other degree relevant to the practice of Environmental Consulting

  • No experience needed

  • If driving for, or on behalf of, any ECS subsidiary, a valid driver’s license is required

Skills and Abilities

  • Basic knowledge of environmental principles and applications.
  • Basic knowledge of permitting processes, environmental regulations, and environmental test methods
  • Interest in project management, consulting, and business development.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds a number of times each day and walk on uneven ground through various terrains.

  • The following US Military ranks will qualify for this position IF they also meet the education requirements from the above section titled "Required Qualifications":

The expected pay range for this role and location is $50k - $70k/year. The final agreed-upon compensation will be determined based on specific location and other individual qualifications.
