Job description

Description
Are you looking for a role where you can truly integrate geology with geostatistics and solve problems that aren't straightforward? At NGM, you'll work across both linear and non-linear approaches - turning complex data, including challenging metallurgical variables, into models that directly influence mine decisions. If you want technical depth, real impact, and ownership of your work Nevada Gold Mines' (NGM) Mineral Resource Management team has the perfect opportunity for you!
At Nevada Gold Mines, our Resource Geologists play a critical role in transforming geological insight into real mining decisions. This position puts you at the heart of a collaborative, high-performing technical team-where your models, interpretations, and judgment directly influence how ore is identified, evaluated, and extracted. This is a hands-on role for a geologist who thrives on problem-solving, field engagement, and translating complex geology into fit-for-purpose resource models that support safe, responsible, and profitable mining.
At NGM, we are committed to a safe work environment sending every person home safe and healthy every day and leaving a sustainable legacy on our host communities. We offer a generous benefits package which includes a competitive medical, dental, and vision plan with national provider networks, a 401k retirement plan with employer contribution, paid time off, company-sponsored medical clinics, company match share purchase program, and much more!
Responsibilities
  • Coach, mentor, and provide technical leadership to mine geologists
  • Design and execute best-practice, fit-for-purpose resource estimation workflows aligned to business needs
  • Build, validate, and continuously improve geological and block models of varying complexity, with a clear focus on value and risk
  • Integrate field observations from regular pit and/or underground visits to ground-truth interpretations and model performance
  • Review and validate resource and reserve statements, geological databases, QA/QC data, mine designs, schedules, costs, and technical reports
  • Prepare and present high-quality geological interpretations and resource estimates to senior leadership and key stakeholders
  • Ensure orebody knowledge is clearly communicated and embedded across the broader business
  • Collaborate with reconciliation geologists and operations teams to identify trends, close performance gaps, and strengthen model confidence
  • Conduct technical investigations and research to support continuous improvement and innovation
  • Independently solve complex geological challenges using sound technical judgment, creativity, and initiative
  • Write clear, impactful technical reports that explain workflows, business impacts, and identified risks or opportunities
  • Respond to technical queries from engineering, operations, and other stakeholders with clarity and confidence
  • Champion a strong safety culture by leading by example and ensuring compliance with all HS&E policies and procedures

Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Geology, Mining Engineering, Earth Science, Geological Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Minimum three (3) years' experience in relevant mining geology preferred; mining engineering or exploration roles also considered supplemented with a relevant post-graduate degree in Geostatistics
  • Awareness of reporting codes (NI43-101, SK-1300)
  • Experience within the mining industry including mining geology in open pit and/or underground production environments
  • Proven geological interpretation skills with the ability to apply this to Resource estimation. Experience in modelling structurally controlled gold systems preferred

What We Can Offer You
A comprehensive compensation package including a competitive medical, dental, and vision plan with national provider networks, a 401k retirement plan with employer contribution AND employer match, paid time off, company-sponsored medical clinics, company match share purchase program, and much more!
  • Work in a dynamic, collaborative, progressive, and high-performing team.
  • Endless opportunities to grow and learn with industry colleagues.
  • Access to a variety of career opportunities across the organization.
  • Nevada Gold Mines is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.

Thank you for your application, however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
